It's been awhile since we've heard any news on the rumored Thundercats movie. Last I heard it will most likely be CGI/motion-capture like BEOWULF and POLAR EXPRESS. Given how AVATAR looks, I think that would be the best way to go. Anyway, my cast:


DIRECTOR: Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) or Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember)

LION-O: Right now I'm leaning towards Scott Speedman



CHEETARA: Moon Bloodgood


PANTHRO: Vin Diesel is the top choice


TYGRA: There may be better choices out there, but I'll take Jamie Bamber ("Battlestar Galactica")


JAGA: Frank Langella. Seriously, how awesomely poetic would that be?!


WILYKAT & WILYKIT: Look no further than Remy & Bella Thorne


They've appeared on various tv shows since '06. They're gonna be big.

MUMM-RA: Please oh please oh please Ron Perlman (as both forms)

If they want to make it interesting, they could have Doug Jones play Mumm-ra's decayed form. But I'm positive that Perlman could nail both sides of the role.

Nice, not sure about your Panthra or Lion o picks. But I love your Mum-Ra!

But dude what about the rest of em? Lynx-O, The Mutants, SNARF! You forgot Snarf. You cna't ahve any Thundercats without Snarf.

Actually dude, that's a perfect cast!!! Don't change a DAMN thing!!! I haven't even thought about it after seeing the fan trailer a while back cause it seemed perfect as it was but damn you actually beat the trailer!!! Great cast, superbly done!!!

Snarf would be CGI of course and i'd go with Matt Frewer's voice.



Now i know that Pearlman would be a great Mumrah but you gotta admit, it wouldn't take too much make up to make him the White ape mutant (not sure of the name it's been that long LOL).

As for the fat lizard, i'd say Jon Polito.



And the bird man... can't think of someone with the same tall and slender build and that much of an anoying voice.

No I don't follow you dude, but if you are refering to Panthro being played by a Black actor, then u should know vin is Black. If you mean he should be played by white actor then u should know he is white too, I think he is Italian on his mother's side.

All great choices, except for Speedman, dudes useless! Id go for Paul Walker..he looks the part and is slightly less useless! The rest are spot on though. As much as i hate Diesel, hes gotta be Panthro!

@dellamorte, That's true, though with TCats, every single major (and minor) character is not human. That's why I think mo-cap is the way to pull it off, rather than full body prosthetics for the whole cast. That's why I put Gil Kenan as a pick for director. But as long as they can make a rockin' script with great story and characters, they could go either way.

Brilliantly done. Only one that I really disagree with is Tygra, but like you said there are probably better choices. Only worry I would have about a Thundercats movie would be them straying away from Lion-O to Tygra as the main character because it would appeal to a younger audience more. Sounds too much like Hollywood.


I still think a younger Kurt Russell could have made an AMAZING Lion-O.

I liked everyone you mentioned except for vin desiel I think michael clarke duncan aka "the kingpin" would be a better panthro he even sounds like him.
is it me or does it seem like we know how to cast
for comic book movies and hollywood doesn't?
