Announced yesterday, Bumblebee Furai and Megatron Furai models, based on the characters as they are portrayed in IDW's popular Transformers series, are coming to hobby retailers near you. Ever the scout, Bumblebee drops first (available now) followed in July by the Decepticon leader, Megatron.
With more than 50 articulated parts, 'Bee is exceptionally posable, whether it's in one of those incredibly impracticle super hero landings or in the midst of a battle. Perhaps even more attractive is the detachable helicopter engine and rotors that comes with this kit, which is a great addition to make this particular model really stand out.
Of course, the Autobots wouldn't be heroes without enemies to protect the galaxy from. Megatron Furai will be available come July, featuring his trusty fusion arm canon, as well over 40 moveable joints. While Bumblebee Furai stands at five inches tall, Megatron will boast a whopping six. Which is pretty close to scale - although the movies tend to make 'Bee look like a garden gnome in comparison.
One detail beignners might find appealing is the full-color ABS printed pieces which snap easily into place and negate the need for custom painting. Of course, that doesn't mean that more advanced model enthusiasts can't detail their Transformers figures with custom paint jobs and battle scars. The dirtier the better, we tend to think.
