According to sources, Katie Cassidy might be the replacement of Megan Fox as the new love interest in Transformers 3.

This is what has been said:

A source told press that Michael Bay was thrilled to be rid of Miss Fox and already had Katie in mind as a replacement.

“Michael worked with Katie on A Nightmare On Elm Street and he sees her as the perfect choice. Megan was unknown when she was cast in the first Transformers and Katie is in that same mold. She even looks a little like Megan — only blonde.”

I don't agree with that last line about her looking like Fox but she actually bears a resemblance to Carly Witwicky from The 1980's Transformers cartoon.

she's a better actress than Fox is so that's a plus!
I really like Gemma Arterton but she doesn't fit the movie
they should just try to get Fox and kill her off within like the first 20 min of the movie
then bring in the new love interest (who can act!!!!!)! xD

@GotBatman: Because I wanted to Fix the article and show a comparison photo but I also didn't want to make it sound like fact which the last one kinda did.

Well hopefully they make years pass by and allude to whatever happened to Mikaela and then have him really fall in the love with "good girl" Carly from The old Transformers TV show.

It would be nice to think that maybe Spielberg and Bay are really trying to fix the "missing pieces" of the franchise.

I'm not too sure about this. Meagan getting booted is very sudden. Though I'm not too sure about Katie being 'the new Megan' as this is sudden.

@Promorus: No,her maiden name was unknown until she got married to "Spike" Witwicky(whom Sam is loosely based off of) in the show. I just refer to her by her full marriage name.

When it comes to transformers I would just rather them fix the missing pieces in the franchise.

So far

-The film is set to have darker themes and have less action than TF2

- Unicron from Transformers Armada might be the villain

-No more Mikaela

- No more racist robots

So I say some missing pieces are fixed but not all.

But here are the broken pieces that need to be fixed to really repair this franchise

- Get rid of the retarded sex jokes

- Get rid of the retarded parents

- Get rid of the retarded security guard

- Pay more attention to the robots

- Make Sam have a more mature relationship with a girl,which is why I say that Carly from the cartoon series and G1 comic books,who was the sweet girl-next-door and married "Spike" Witwicky would be good for this.

But I actually doubt that Bay cares about all the "broken pieces" that he needs to fix but what do you guys think?

You did a pretty good job here. Keep up the good work if you can! And thank you for understanding my cautiousness. With all the 'news' going around on gossip sites it tends to get hard to discern fact from fiction when someone overexaggerates to make things 'interesting.' It would be nice to see another character from the mythology introduced and Katie might have some chemistry with Shia on-screen but hopefully it's done in good taste and not something shallow.

Michael Bay said he wants to go deep into the lore so hey this would be a good way to do it since Sam aka Spike marries Carly in the show and they have a son named Daniel Witwicky.

Also would it be cool to have Unicron from Transformers Armada as a villain in this movie?

Well maybe at the beginning of the movie they can show Grimlock had just stepped on something pan the camera down and we see only Fox's legs and shoes sticking out. Perfect!
