Seth Rogen Continues To Tease PREACHER; Reveals The Opening Tune

Not the actual title track now, but the first song we'll hear after the credits role -- and it should be familiar to readers of Garth Ennis' controversial comic series. See what Rogen posted to his Twitter account after the jump..

preacher

Last week, co-writer of AMC's upcoming Preacher tv series Seth Rogen posted a glimpse behind the scenes of his creative process, and revealed that the entity known as Genesis (the half-demon-half-angel that possesses Custer, giving him his God-like power) will be the first thing we see when the pilot ep opens. Well now he's released a new photo from his cork board, and it includes the classic Willie Nelson song "Time of the Preacher", which Jesse Custer is singing the first time we meet him in the comic.

Nice to see, in these first couple of shots at least, that Rogen and Evan Goldberg are sticking close to the source material. Hopefully we'll get a few more teases soon.

I thought the first song would be: "Fist Again".
Anyway, I have a very limited faith in Rogen so I'm not really looking forward to this.
I'll stick to the comics.

that crying baby is almost identical to Drax the Destroyer's face in the teaser image right below this one. I hope that was intentional.

Yeah this whole project is so ridiculously controversial. The comics survived because they were comics. Going mainstream with this story is just asking for headlines and controversy.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited to see this live action, but man, the controversy hellfire that's gonna rain down on AMC is gonna be epic. HBO had it right when they passed on this project years ago.

Why is everyone acting like controversy and headlines are things the producers of this show don't want?

Can this possibly translate, without being so reduced it'll just suck? I don't think TWD comes close to the "extreme" scenes found in Preacher. Prediction is what the hell do i know maybe Seth pulls it off or...pulls out.

Sniktbub I agree. The only reason Rogen & Co. are adapting it is because of the controversy.

Be interesting to see how much of the source material they include and what they'll leave out, like arseface, Jesus de Sade's orgy, Starr getting sodimised, oatlash and the Nazi stuff, Odin quincannons seriously weird, major, fricked up sex doll made of meat carcass's. Not to mention all the god stuff
