We're still waiting to find out which fan-favourite character met Lucille in the season six finale of The Walking Dead, and now a new image and details tease what's next for Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan...
We still don't know which major upcoming superhero movie will feature on the cover of this year's Comic-Con themed issue of Entertainment Weekly, but it appears as if The Walking Dead will be taking the spotlight this week. The magazine has revealed a first look at season seven of the hit AMC drama, and while it doesn't shed any light on who met the fury of Lucille, it's still a pretty cool shot.
"Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode," director and executive producer Greg Nicotero confirms, debunking theories the show will keep us waiting as they did with Glenn's fate last year. Talking about what we should expect from Jeffrey Dean Morgan's villain, he added: "He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive."
