The Walking Dead, most fans assumed that his character was going to be killed off. Well, we soon learned that wasn't the case, and AMC later announced a trilogy of TV movies revolving around Rick Grimes.
While ratings for the show continue to decline, the network is clearly confident that the movies will be a success because it's now been confirmed that Universal Pictures will distribute them exclusively in theaters. No release date has been announced and it remains untitled, but the teaser below makes it clear that the movie will deal with what comes next for Rick.
Whether we actually get a trilogy will now more than likely hinge on how well the first instalment performs, and it will be interesting seeing how the project is handled as it will have to appeal to both regular moviegoers and longtime fans of the zombie drama.
