SPOILERS: THE WALKING DEAD Season 8 Images And Teaser Preview Rick Grimes' Final Battle With Negan
AMC has released a sneak peek at the upcoming season finale of The Walking Dead alongside some very cool new stills previewing the final battle between Rick Grimes' survivors and Negan's Saviors...
The Walking Dead may not have the devoted fan base it once did but ratings for the series remain relatively strong and with a new showrunner set to take charge of the action moving into season nine, there's a very good chance that the quality of the show will increase. Before we get to that, though, the finale airs on Sunday and AMC has today released a brand new batch of preview images from that.
As well as teasing a flashback to events which took place before or during the first season, we also get some very cool shots of the survivors preparing for battle and learn more about what's in store for the likes of Dwight and Maggie (who could meet her maker here given those recent contract issues).

Whoa, hang on a second! This is clearly a flashback to when Rick was a sheriff and Carl was just a little boy so perhaps it's this which helps him change his mind about how to deal with Negan.
Rick and Michonne lead the charge in what looks like the final stand for the survivors as they look to confront Negan's Saviors and bring this violent "All Out War" to an end once and for all.
While most fans have assumed that this final battle would take place either at the Hilltop or Saviors' compound, it looks like we're actually getting a slightly more unique setting for this confrontation.
Fresh off her memorable turn in Black Panther, Danai Gurira's Michonne gets into a knife fight with one of the Saviors but it's fair to say that this guy is probably outgunned in this particular battle.
Since Glenn's violent demise, Maggie has been intent on revenge and it's going to be very interesting seeing what happens if and when she finally comes face to face with Negan in the finale.
Alden (Callan McAuliffe) has been working his way into Maggie's good graces in recent weeks but can he be trusted or will he end up betraying her and revealing his true allegiances to Negan?
We haven't seen a whole lot from Jesus recently so it's good to see that he'll get something to do in the finale as he pulls off a pretty awesome looking dropkick during a fight with one of the Saviors.
Morgan will not only have a role to play in The Walking Dead's finale but he'll also be appearing in Fear The Walking Dead's premiere as well as that show skips ahead in time when it returns to AMC.
Poor Dwight! After being found out by Negan, it looks like he's also heading down "Easy Street" for a while. Do you know what that" A" stands for, though? According to a producer, it's "A-Hole."
More shots from the final battle here which will presumably take place at sunset, something which will make the battle even more atmospheric and fun to watch as Rick attempts to put down Negan.
Michonne swaps here trademark Katana for a rifle here as she takes aim at an unknown threat. It's pretty interesting that we've seen pretty much nothing from the Saviors here, don't you think?
Siddiq was saved by Carl so it's only fitting that he plays a large role in proceedings here. How important he'll wind up being to the series moving forward obviously remains to be seen, however.
Dwight saved Tara's life and it's now up to her whether or not she chooses to return the favour during this final battle. Daryl clearly isn't keen on helping his old foe so he may be his only choice now.
Rick once again leads the charge in these awesome shots but how many of the characters we see here will be left standing when the battle with Negan and his saviours reaches its conclusion?
Well, that's one way to spoil a beautiful sunset! We don't know how much walkers will actually factor into the finale, especially as they've taken a backseat to the action over the past few years.
