GREAT episode. Weak finale though. It did not live up to all the hype they built on for the past 6 episodes, but it was still good nonetheless. And how does zombie Milton have rotted teeth already he was a zombie for 5 minutes?

The finale was a little weak but the Governor going on a rampage was unexpected. Also, didn't see Andrea biting the dust. I totally suspected either Maggie or Hershel to die next but I'm glad they didn't. Hershel is becoming one of my favorite characters ever since he lost his pet barn zombies.

what about a "SPOILER ALERT"!?

You should be able to judge from the title and header whether you should click and read this article. The spoiler info is purposely kept on the other side of the jump.

The finale sucked. Andrea died even though she's not dead in the comics. The main fight between the Govenor and Rick wasn't that big all Woodburry's people did was shoot up the place and retreat. And for one of the biggest shows on television why didn't it get a 2 hour finale. How did Robert Kirkman let them kill off Andrea, the creator of the comics has to get a say in, in what goes, right? It just wasn't as grand as I would of liked it.

You guys didn't have to wait a whole day to post this, the problem with last week's article was the fact that you posted Merel's mug on the front page and forced everyone to be exposed to a major spoiler...whether they had seen it or not.

Why can't you guys just post a non-spoiler pic as the thumbnail for these articles. No idea why you HAVE to put the picture of the main characters who died.

Sups, this show isn't even an adaption of the comics anymore. It's a whole different thing.

Weak finale, no showdown between rick and the governor, governor is a pussy leaving after 2 people shot
CavEl
CavEl - 4/1/2013, 6:47 AM
@ sups92 - Kirkman does have a say in who dies, none of the main characters die without Kirkman's okay.

The show and the comics are set in different universes, if you haven't noticed, they show has taken a ton of liberties on its own.

For one thing, Merele and Darryl don't exist in the comics.

I like how the show and comic do not mirror each other.. if they did we would know what to expect each week.. Just think, next season we get a seriously pissed off Governor that will eventually come back and kill damn near everyone and we can move to other storylines.

Folks Complaining about Andrea's character need to understand that maybe her contract was up and she wanted to do other things. Or maybe they just wanted to do it. there could have been many factors. Im sure there is a reason behind it.

I speculate the dark haired chick that came from wood berry is going to replace her role.

i love the walking dead but that was one disappointing finale, they're probably continuing the prison storyline because the next arc of the comic is a bit slow.

While the death of Andrea was handled pretty well (albeit a little overdue) I felt a general sense of "that's it" as far as a season finale goes. Having Poindexter act as the instrument of Andrea's destruction was both poingant and suspensful, but I thought the show needed more loss on both sides. Is it October yet?

I don't know what so many people are complaining about. So yeah, the Governor didn't die. It's called building a story. It can't always be kill off the bad guy at the end of every season, slow burns are good.

I thought that the way Andrea went was solid. The scene where Rick, Daryl, and Tyrese were waiting outside the door for Andrea to put the bullet in her head was epic. The wait seemed to last forever and made me uncomfortable. I would much rather have a scene like that as opposed to mass zombie killings. I never cared for Andrea until the last two episodes. The writers did a great job in making me care for her.

so happy andreas dead. she was lame. id like to see a tiny woman cut handcuffs with a rusty pair of pliers with one hand, btw. In fact Id like to see someone cut handcuffs with pliers period.

They been dragging this Governor shit out for weeks. It should have ended because there's nothing left that's interesting about it. He comes to the prison AGAIN and fires some shots and leaves. So lame.

And I'm glad Carl smoked that dude. Not because of Carl's sadistic need to kill him (tho he had a good excuse prepared), but because the dude was told to put the gun DOWN, not hand it to him. That looked shady.

And The Walking Dead continues doing AWFUL season finales. They killed Andrea... I mean really? they screwed up one of the best characters from the comics, and then their solution was to kill her instead of fixing her? oh for christ sake, and that pussy governor will continue next season... great, just great. The episode was so anti-climatic, and had nothing to add. I had enough of this show.

Ricks plan to draw them in and scare the pants off them was the best option. Going gun to gun against superior firepower and superior numbers would have been nuts. I won't miss Andrea, but I did not see that coming either. Carl it seems is letting the consequences of his poor past decisions, guide his present day decisions. The Gov will now be a constant threat, and I'm kinda glad that storyline may be able to continue in to next season. Great episode overall, even though it was a little anti-climactic.

Andrea never bothered me as she did much if the ppl on this site. Last night's episode put the nail in the coffin for me.... Sitting cryin & chatting... Hurry up & pick up da blasted pliers woman... Geez! I got so mad with her i wanted her death as much as most ppl here. That being said, i was really sad wen it actually happened.
Thats what i love about this show. You never know who's gonna bite the dust. I mean Andrea! Rick's future love interest from the comics is dead in the show... I mean no-one is safe. Please don't kill off Glenn too early. It really hurt me when he died in the comics. He was my favorite character
sups92
sups92 - 4/1/2013, 6:39 PM
@MassNerder-Well I just wanted more of an epic finale, like of an all out war between the two and I know a lot of people don't like Andrea but I like her, I wasn't expecting her to die. If it is such a big show why not have a two hour finale.
WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 4/1/2013, 9:03 PM
Ricks plan to draw them in was a good option, but the best one would have been to destroy them as a fighting force.

Everything was set up for a slaughter of The Governor's "citizen's Army" of teens and the middle aged, but I think the writers lost their nerve.

The RICK of the comic series would have totally wiped that force out if he had the opportunity because The Governor had made it clear that he would throw away all
of the lives of his army to kill Rick's group.

Those people may have been "innocent" in the fact they had been lied to by the Governor, but that wouldn't have prevented them from taking part in the killing of everybody inside the prison if they had won.

Rick's people had the high ground and were firing from cover with body armor against (mostly) poorly trained "milita" both in the catacombs and in the prison yard with smoke and walkers adding to the confusion.

The Governor had clearly lost control of his people who were giving in to panic.

Yet only one attacker (The Kid) died during the assault and that was presented as some kind of morality issue on killing when the whole reason that army was there
in the first place was to kill without mercy.

Why would this bother the same Rick who days before, left a helpless young man who begged for help on the road to die by Walkers?

Rick never showed a moment of regret for being so cold hearted when he twice ditching that guy and only later stopped to take the backpack off his freshly mangled corpse.

Why would Rick be bothered when Carl (who watched his dad make the coldhearted
decision to leave the hitchhiker to die) made a similar decision that the kid he ran into was stalling not giving up, and was too much of a risk to be kept alive in the confusion after the attack?

What gives? in three prior clashes (Woodbury, the first prison attack and Merles attack) the cream of the Governors forces took loses even when they had the element of surprise. Yet here they all were able to run away?

If that was the plan, why did Rick feel the need to follow the army back to Woodbury to finish the job killing the Governor?

They could have killed as many troops needed to get at the Governor and finish him on ground of their choosing instead of taking 3 people back into the Lion's den.

Who know's, had he not lost his cool and allowed a retreat to Woodbury, The Governor may have been able to rally them with the fear that what they tried to do at the prison would be visited on Woodbury if they didn't fight.

The Governor's people would have their backs against the wall and the lives of their families at stake if they lost.

I think the producers didn't want to get to the real truth about the Walking Dead
as its portrayed in the comics because it would be too dark for T.V.and that is there are no heroes.

Everybody whose still alive in the comics has blood on their hands and there really isn't all that much difference between a Rick and The Governor.

The madness, ruthlessness and autocratic tendencies are there in both men, its just a matter of degrees.
