Long before Negan swung onto our screens in
The Walking Dead, there was another name to fear.
The Governor, played by Actor David Morrissey, was introduced in Season 3 of the popular zombie series and made his presence felt by bringing seriously intense scenes to an already tense world. Although the character didn't survive past Season 4, he made a huge impression on the show and its fans, and Actor David Morrissey would love to revisit the eye-patch wearing villain if at all possible.
I've often said I'd make the tea for them if they asked me because it was a wonderful experience, and it's a show made by fantastic people, really talented people. And you want to work with those people.
Of course, The Governer is dead, so if Morrissey were to reprise the role it would have to be in a prequel or maybe a movie similar to the ones Andrew Lincoln has signed on for after leaving the show himself.
As I say, I love the world, I love the genre, I love the character, so if the powers that be deem it right to do it, I would love to. Sometimes you walk away from a job and you think, 'I'm finished with this character." Whereas the Governor, I don't feel that. There's a lot more to mine, I think.
What do you think of Morrissey's comments? Would you like to see him return as The Governor in a prequel film of sorts? Let us know below!
