UPDATE. Daryl Dixon to make his Comic book Debut in Walking Dead

Has the overwhelming popularity of Norman Reedus' character in Walking Dead led to a change in the comic? UPDATE: "Comic - ish" image posted by Reedus.

According to a recent post on Norman Reedus’ official Twitter account there is talk of adding his Walking Dead (AMC) Character (Daryl) to the actual comic book due to the success of the show and specifically; the overwhelming popularity of his character.

Courtney at Allvoices.com is quoted in the article that Reedus linked to as saying: “Daryl's role in the show is very important and vital for the other survivors. This role is played well by Reedus, who is no stranger to playing the tough guy role as seen The Boondock Saints 1 and 2.”

Does this mean that we will see Daryl as a stable character in the upcoming seasons of Walking Dead? Who knows, but as an avid Boondock Saints fan, I am stoked to see Norman succeed in such a great role on such a phenomenal show! This will (to my knowledge) be Norman's second time leaping on to the pages of our beloved comic books, the first being in the ongoing Boondock Saint comics (12 Gauge comics)

UPDATE: Norman posted a link to the picture below today. It doesn't say who the artist is or whether this is actual comicbook art, Some kind of promo image for the show (Which would seem most likely), or just some really good fan art. Regardless of the its purpose, the image is still worth checking out.

Well, until next time,

Well his character is the only non comic book character that I really like on the show. Nice to see that he may go to the comic book, perhaps they could meet him after leaving the Alexandria community.

@threeBigtacos - Yeah, the stories are good, the art is not that great... But it's Boondock Saints! So, yeah... I own every issue. lol

I would start with "Lost Gig" It's the best one so far. It is a story about a mission that the boys take Rocco on before they let him join them on the hit on Vincenzo Lipazzi (Ron Jeremy)during the first Boondock film.

The rest are basically a more in depth story of Il Duce's past.
