BUFFY Star Sarah Michelle Gellar Battles A Different Type Of Monster In First WOLF PACK Trailer

Sarah Michelle Gellar is known for taking on the undead in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but she'll be doing battle against a different type of monster in upcoming Paramount+ series, Wolf Pack...

Paramount+ (via FearHQ.com) has just debuted the first trailer for a new horror series called Wolf Pack, which stars Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, Tyler Lawrence Gray, Rodrigo Santoro, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, the show follows "a teenage boy and girl whose lives are forever changed after a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and they both end up being bitten.

As the bite brings them together, they also find themselves drawn to two other teens, who just so happen to have had a similar experience 16 years earlier."

Though Wolf Pack was initially believed to be a Teen Wolf (which also comes from executive producer Jeff Davis) spin-off, this appears to be its own thing - although there is speculation that both shows could cross over down the line.

"After 100 episodes of Teen Wolf I thought I was done with werewolves," Davis tells EW. "They asked me, 'Would you be interested in doing another supernatural TV show?' I was like , 'Supernatural, of course.' Then they said, 'Would you be interested in doing something sort of similar to Teen Wolf?' I said, 'Well is it actually teen werewolves?' Then they said, 'Maybe.' I'm not kidding. They sent me the book and it actually does tie into something I've been thinking about for a while, which was the California wildfires."

Check out the trailer below, along with a new poster.

Buffy the Vampire star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is also on board as an EP, plays a member of a joint task force looking into the cause of the fire, but based on what we see in this promo, we'd say there's a decent chance she engages in some carnivorous lunar activities herself!

Wolf Pack premieres Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, on Paramount+ for subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.

The trailer looks more like SMG will be a side character rather than the main character. Those teens seem to be in focus
