We've known for a while that The Monitor will be the lead villain in this year's Arrowverse crossover and now some set photos have arrived which finally reveal what he will look like. Played by LaMonica Garrett, he looks like he's been torn straight from the pages of the comic books and that's bound to make fans of the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline happy.

Also known as Mar Novu, The Monitor is an extraterrestrial being of infinite power who is old as the universe itself. Whether or not the Elseworlds crossover will follow the source material by having him recruit the heroes to take the fight to the Anti-Monitor remains to be seen for now.

Regardless, something weird is going on in the event as we know that Superman will don his black suit and Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin will be swapping superhero roles as Barry Allen is the Green Arrow and Oliver Queen is the Flash. John Wesley Shipp, meanwhile, will be suiting up as the version of the Scarlet Speedster he played in the 90s. Oh, and we'll
meet Batwoman!
