Following the success of Arrows second season and the ever growing roster of DC characters joining the ranks, the pressure is on to deliver another fantastic year. After the secrets and cliffhangers presented at the end of season 2, there are many issues to be addressed when the show returns including Laurel's role, now she knows Olivers' secret. Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim promises that there will be no catty relationship between the two women in Olivers' life, Laurel and Felicity. In fact, the pairs dynamic will be
'a lot of fun.
' Guggenheim adds
'These characters [including Sara] should all be more than just who they are to Oliver.' 'We’re always trying to flesh out Felicity’s character and Laurel’s character and Sara’s character beyond whether or not they’re going out with Oliver that week.'
Sticking with Arrow, Oliver has always struggled with his identity - man or hero? But this season will see the other characters face a similar dilemma. Guggenhiem reveals;
"For Thea: Am I Thea Queen or am I Thea Merlyn?" "With Diggle: Am I sidekick or am I my own man? Felicity: Do I exist outside the lair? Do I exist as something more than just Oliver's crush object? Lance: If I'm confined to a desk job, am I still a cop?... Laurel: Am I Laurel or am I my sister? Or can I be my sister?"
Gotham has become the first of this years Comic Book based TV shows to find a UK home, with the FOX series set to debut on Channel 5 in the autumn. Channel 5 is home to many US imports including Under the Dome and CSI. The channels head of acquisitions had this to say of the purchase;
"I don't think there was a more exciting show at the LA screenings this year – Gotham is a thrilling drama built on iconic characters that fascinate. "Channel 5 is delighted to become the home of such a powerful, bold and visually stunning show. Its acquisition proves we continue to be committed to the biggest in US drama."
