WWE Superstar Stardust Renews Rivalry With ARROW Star Stephen Amell With A Glass Of Water To The Face

Stardust invaded Stephen Amell's panel at the Dallas Comic Con today for a confrontation with his SummerSlam opponent, and things didn't go well for the Arrow star. Are we getting a rematch?

Stephen Amell wowed everyone when he took part in a tag team match at SummerSlam last year, but could a rematch against his nemesis Stardust be on the cards at this year's WrestleMania? That remains to be seen, but the duo have recently put their differences aside - well, mostly - in order to raise money for Elijah Mainville, an 8 year old WWE fan battling Stage 4 cancer (more information on his cause can be found by clicking here).

Amell and Stardust launched a t-shirt campaign during SummerSlam which raised proceeds of nearly $300,000 for Emily’s House in Toronto, so whether you're a wrestling fan or not, everything they're doing here is quite clearly for a great cause. They actually met today for the WWE Superstar to hand over Amell's Slammy award, and that's now going to be auctioned off to raise money for Elijah.

The video below is a lot of fun too, though it wraps up with the Arrow star taking to glasses of water to the face courtesy of Stardust and SmackDown announcer (and the wrestler's real life wife) Eden Stiles. Amell later took to Facebook to state: "By the way: if the dude wants a match, he knows how to get in touch with me. Anytime. Anywhere." It's on! Further updates on this fundraising scheme can be found on the actor's Facebook page.

WWF i mean WWE use to be bad ass in the 90's to early 2000's than it just went stale from there, I did tune back in when Brock Lesner, The Rock & Sting came back. But that was it, There's nothing there anymore for me to watch like did growing up and tuning in every monday night to see the rivalry between WWF & WCW. Those were the days!

@AztecaAguilar04 - Yeah, wrestling peaked with the Monday Night War/Attitude Era.Worse thing to happen to wrestling was Vince buying WCW,now the WWE has no true rival.

Just a general question – is wrestling really popular anymore? I honestly can’t think of a period over the last 30 years that wrestling seems so unpopular. I’m talking in terms of just people I know at work & personal as I never hear anyone talk about it anymore. I don’t even think if I asked 100 random people who Roman Reigns is that more than 2 people would know. It’s like all of the full time roster just can’t catch on as a household name.

Before it comes off as if I’m bashing wrestling, my wrestling bio:

HUGE fan in the golden era (1985 – 1992) – attended Wrestlemania 4 & 5 live and probally went to at least 100 house shows / TV tapings during that era. Never missed an episode of any wrestling program during these years either.

In my younger years actually wrestled on the indy scene 1993 – 1997 as a friend I grew up with made a name for himself in ECW and WWE (to a degree). He went off to wrestling school in the early 90’s and I went along with him on the indy scence as he made the start of his career (going to leave him nameless). During my time in indies got to work with many of the stars I loved about 5 – 10 years after this period. Also worked with or met along the way several stars that would go on to become names in the Attitude Era.

I love wrestling in my heart but honestly as much as I try to watch the past 3 – 5 years it’s getting very hard. Just wondering what you guys think of the state of the current product.

Did Amell learn nothing from Cyndi Lauper's mistake? WWF practically destroyed her music career and turned her into a joke.

@AsgardianHobo - I mean at least have him wrestle someone worth a shit. I mean how low do you have to be to have a feud with Stardust. Stardust is the type of wrestler they use to fill in between the important matches on RAW or to be the easy match for some A or B list wrestler.
