BATWOMAN Goes To War In The New Promo For Season 1 Finale: "O, Mouse!"

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The CW was forced to cut the currently airing seasons of Batwoman, Supergirl, and The Flash short, meaning the next episodes of each respective show will serve as a premature season finale and will likely be the final new installments we get to see until this fall.

However, their ability to resume production will depend on the status of the ever-evolving coronavirus pandemic and, of course, on whether or not proper safety measures have been installed on set and at any potential filming location.

As for the season finale of Batwoman, the episode will see Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) finally go to war with the one person she least expected: Commander Kane (Dougray Scott).

"O, Mouse!" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

SEASON FINALE - When one of Gotham's former heroes returns to his old stomping grounds to settle a score, both Batwoman (Ruby Rose) and Commander Kane (Dougray Scott) find themselves on the defensive. Meanwhile, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) has uncovered what could finally take down Batwoman, but she is losing hold on her henchman Mouse (guest star Sam Littlefield) and Hush (guest star Gabriel Mann), sending her spiraling into her most wicked self. Luke (Camrus Johnson) immediately focuses on finding a way to protect Batwoman from Alice, and Mary (Nicole Kang) has a chance to be the sister Kate has needed all along. New information surfaces, forcing Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) to warn Sophie (Meagan Tandy) about the person pulling the strings. And in a final standoff, when Commander Kane refuses to retreat from his war on Batwoman, Kate may find herself more than heartbroken by her father's choices. Amanda Tapping directed the episode written by Holly Henderson and Don Whitehead (#120). Original airdate 5/17/2020.

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham's new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob's first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore. Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate -- the daughter he still has -- at a distance. But Kate is a woman who's done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes -- a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary, and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice, who's always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.
Batwoman features:
Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman
Rachel Skarsten as Alice
Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore
Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton
Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox
Elizabeth Anweis as Catherine Hamilton-Kane
Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane

Batwoman returns with an all-new episode on May 17

It was alright, another alright episode like last week. Some good, some bad. This show has yet to figure out its formula and, well if you're struggling with that by the end of the first season, that's not really a good sign. Its not a fatal blow, other show have come back from mediocre first seasons, but its certainly not a good sign.

First, Alice is a bitch. Just need to get that out there again. Another week, another abrasive series of Alice sequences. Seriously, just kill her off because she drags down every episode.

I thought that the fallout between Luke and Alice was pretty stupid, and having the teen come in was a bit, idk ridiculous in a sense. How many people are going to know Kate's secret?? Also I thought Kate should have handled the Alice situation better, though her using the bat sense was pretty neat. There was some neat info in Lucius' journal, about Bruce, Talia and R'as.

Hush was serviceable, didn't hate or love him. Also, I can get behind Sophie and Julia as a couple, they actually have chemistry and its not some cringey forced relationship or set of feelings. But I hope Alice stays away, no need for a love triangle.

For much of this episode, Mary was the most competent member of team Batwoman. Alice letting Hush get away by stupidly getting the teen out of the van was really dumb. Mary spoke for all of us with her frustration.

Its about time that Kate and her father have an open and honest conversation...

Oh I forgot that Azrael was mentioned in the book too.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Now that was a good costume, maybe update the mask, and it would look just fine on Batwoman

@dracula - I really liked Azrael, he was done so well on Gotham, portrayed well and badass costume. That was one of my favorite pods from Gotham, the one that involved him.

Also, I thought that Jacob made a very interesting point about how Bruce had Joker and Batwoman has Alice. This is true, but Alice is no Joker and that's a big problem right here. They're trying to make Alice a Joker-level character, and I get that she is her main foe in the comics, but they don't have the quality of writing or story to warrant Alice serving in a Joker like position. Once again, this show should look to Gotham for some inspiration. Jeremiah and Jerome were never featured in EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE. Those characters were built up and developed, they became fan favorites but the showrunners intelligently took breaks from those characters appearing. It made you that more excited, that more interested in Jeremiah or Jerome when he returned.

This season has a major villain problem. One of the weakest parts of this show is Alice. From an unlikable villain to poor writing surrounding her, she is bringing the show down in multiple ways. I hope they fix this issue next season with Safiyah, because another season like this one could be a make it or break it season for this show.

Sophie remains the worst part of the show. Kryptonite twist was interesting, I guess we'll see how it plays out next week. Loved the short rooftop confrontation between Jacob and Kane this show needs more stuff like that. Hush was okay, they didn't need to make him a little lunatic but I guess it is what it is.

What this show needs is its own identity. All the Arrowverse shows especially Arrow, The Flash and Legends have their own kind of visual style that is obviously distinguishable from one another. I can't see it with this show.

This show continues to limp along, with barely their plotting, mediocre acting and questionable directing choices. I know CW has a low bar, but I think this Bat is done unless they come back with a season 2 soft reboot. Hey Doc, I know you love Alice, but they need to drop her in the worst way, her story is played out at this point, along with the Sophie subplot. Maybe write them out and bring Alice back with better writing towards the end of season 2.
