DC Universe took their sweet time delivering a full trailer for Doom Patrol, but an extended look at the critically acclaimed Titans spin-off is now online, and it gives us a much better idea of what to expect when the pilot episode airs on Friday.

The 4-minute promo reintroduces Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and The Chief (this time played by Timothy Dalton), while giving us a first look at new recruits Cyborg and Crazy Jane in action. We also get a glimpse of Alan Tudyk's villainous Mr. Nobody, who appears to have some nefarious plans in store for our team of misfit heroes.

Tell us, do you plan on watching the pilot episode tomorrow? Check out the trailer along with the opening credits sequence and a full batch of promo stills from the first episode, and drop us a comment in the usual place.

A good trailer until about halfway through. Once Nobody shows up the trailer loses momentum. Robotman looks to be the best character/portrayal here, really liking what I'm seeing for him, seems like a deep and emotional character with a good arc (Negative Man and Elasti Woman seem to have good depth too). Still not a fan of how Cyborg looks, but this looks much, much better than the Titans trailer.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I think it is going to be a good show.

@bropous - I think so based on what I can see, at least with some of the characters. I think I'll prefer the character arcs rather than the Nobody centric save the world plot.

@HeavyMetal4Life -

I think I'll prefer the character arcs rather than the Nobody centric save the world plot.

The character arcs look fascinating but this is a superhero show and saving the world is what they always do.

I hear you though, it did shift momentum when the villain showed up because before that everything was more intimate with each character, but Nobody is also a tragic character so let's see what they do with him.

@Humperdink - yes, that is true... All I was saying is that the character arcs we glimpsed in the trailer were much more enticing and intriguing than the expected superhero action. The first half if the trailer was much stronger than the 2nd half.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Yeah, the characters definitely seem to be the most interesting part about this for me. Negative Man is kind of a letdown for me, though. I don't mind them making him gay, since his sexual orientation (to my knowledge) wasn't that important in the comics, but I'm very much not a fan of the character having a family and cheating on his wife. Might just be me, but I can't get past that.

The opening is very good, probably because it is a proper one unlike the Titans one. It reminded me for a reason to Jessica Jones'. Fave part was Rita in the shower and how her upper body looked normal but her legs were deforming and Robotman's brain being put in his robot body.

Can't wait to see it.

Never been a fan of the DC live action shows but Titans was a surprise and Doom Patrol has my interest. Nice to see Brendan Fraser back.

The special effects really are good here, wonder why they didn't use any of that budget for Titans like say show more of Beast Boy's transformations or Raven's, among other stuff. They definitely at least could have done Trigon justice judging by how they showed here Rita's de-formed self, Crazy Jane's powers and Mr. Nobody. So, yeah, why?

I also like how it has a lot of lightning and brightness and color unlike Titans.
Snowbirdd
Snowbirdd - 2/14/2019, 11:18 PM
@NinnesMBC - Well for some reason Beast Boy had only ever tried turning into a Tiger(on and off screen) and nothing else. I don't really understand how that makes sense but thats what was said lmao.
