New GOTHAM Season 2 Promo Takes Us Inside The Would-Be Batcave

This image gave us our first glimpse of the secret enclave discovered by Bruce (David Mazouz) and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) at the end of Gotham season 1, and now Fox has released a new TV spot for the upcoming second season that takes us a little further inside the future Batcave...

“It changes everything in Bruce’s life,” David Mazouz explains to TV Insider. “It changes how he sees Alfred, the criminal side of Gotham, even how he sees his parents. It’s definitely not the Batcave. What is down there are clues to Thomas Wayne’s secret life and what he was trying to do before being killed.”

Gotham season 2 premieres Monday Sept. 21, 8/7c, on Fox.

The worst comic book show on television. Season one was miserable from beginning to end. Terrible stylization, terrible scripts and acting worse than daytime TV.

@jumpingtheshark

Let me get this clear, they will try to say in some way, that Bruce father, was trying to became in some kind of vigilant person to save Gotham from the mobsters and the corruption.

So Bruce father was trying to be Batman, before Bruce?

In some kind of way i am ok with this, in the other kind of way i hate this show and i even dont know why so many people wastes time in this bad crap.

@jumpingtheshark how is the stylization terrible? You Know they're one of the few comic book related shows that actually got a few Emmy nominees for these categories. The set and photography (or whatever you call it) is one of the best on TV right now. It's amazingly beautiful.

I really love this show.. can't wait for Season 2 to start.

Awful, awful show. Jada Pinkett ruined the entire first season. Can it improve without her shitty acting?

Find out in October, same Batkid time, same Batkid channel!

How come fans love "What If" and/or "alternate reality" stories in comic book form, but when it comes to live action stuff they act like it's some kind of mortal sin? That's exactly what "Smallville" was, an alternate Superman mythos. Just like Gotham does with the Batman mythos. Get the sticks out of your collective asses!

LOL, newsflash, you're allowed to enjoy different takes on beloved characters and have an open mind to different interpretations.....if it's NOT canon, throw it in the trash!!

This show was leaps and bounds better than AoS, and the ratings proved that....

The producers said: "If, by some miracle, we can string along the people so desperate for messed up Batman lore, in eight years, this will be the Batcave!"

Nice, that's like a "Where's Waldo" of Suicide Squad, haha. Can't wait

Just to be clear...my distaste for this show has very little to do with the messed up Bat-mythos. I don't care about spruce accuracy. Nothing is source accurate except for Watchmen, and it's too [frick]ing boring.

I dislike this show because of JadaFish and Catgirl and little Bruce and Ben McKenzie. If the show was focused on Bullock and Penguin, I would probably love it, because their characters are well written and well acted.

I may give this another shot since Jada is gone. She was my biggest gripe.

Lol...spruce accuracy...stupid [frick]ing Samsung. Tiny ass little buttons for big fat sausage fingers is not cool!

@foolsgoldfinger But What If...s and Elseworlds are one issue, or one short run in comics. A TV show that is episode after episode, season after season only makes comic book fans yearn for the real deal.
I much prefer Daredevil and The Flash, attempting to start a hero from origin in modern times while translating the comic characters as accurately as possible.
Who knows? The Flash may even be moving towards alternate timelines and universes that may fulfill that Elseworlds aspect...

So funny on this site how everyone thinks their opinion is the only opinion. "I might give this another go" like you stopped watching it in the first place haha eat a dick you'll all be watching it start to finish and then jumping on here to whine about why it's not exactly how you like it. What else do you have to do really? So sad

@Supafairy Because awards in Hollywood always go to the right people? To me the stylization is vomit-inducing and down right laughable.

@ClobberPot....if anyone wants to see live action Batman on TV, better just keep watching reruns of the '66 series, cause there's never going to be a straight forward live action Batman series on TV.

@Nomis

I have a compendium with that story in it. Yep, it's true! Thomas Wayne WAS Batman first. I still am not a huge fan of this show, though. I'm trying!!

@Gusto

One day, someone is going to give @SuperCat a background check and, on that day, you will have probably ruined his life (if the Nuremberg trials already haven't ;)

@jumpingtheshark yes, you're right...I absolutely hated that Breaking Bad and Homeland got all the rewards while the Game of Thrones and Vera Farmiga never won the awards they deserved...Yet, I think Gotham really deserves to be in that category compared to the other unimaginitive shit we have on TV these days.

The set and stylization of Gotham is awesome. It doesn't plant Gotham in one specific decade... I love it...we don't actually know which decade Gotham happens in which makes it great for them to pull in older and younger villains and heroes...
jumpingtheshark
jumpingtheshark - 9/3/2015, 6:25 AM
@Supafairy Breaking Bad is better than Game of Thrones will ever be. LOTR with less walking and more doggy style. Big. Deal.

Yeah, it looks like some Burton/Schumacher amalgam in the worst possible way. Cheap looking and drab.

@jumpingtheshark

I disagree...but let's leave it at that. I'm not going to argue with you when clearly our tastes in television is not comparable.

I love Gotham, I'll watch GoT ten times over before I actually watch Breaking Bad (I saw the last episode of the series and even though I have no doubt it's good, it's just not a series that I actually want to get into) but that's not the point, the point is I like what I like and you like what you like... There's nothing wrong with Gotham's style.. compare it to to other shows, including Daredevil, still by still and you'll see that it is definitely a strong contender in terms of visuals... but you've clearly made up you (biased) mind so I will bow out and say cheers for now. :)

jumpingtheshark - 9/4/2015, 1:06 PM
@Supafairy bias would imply that I have reason to hate Gotham. I had zero reason to hate Gotham. I am their target audience. Batman is my favorite superhero and his rogue's gallery is second to none. My first reaction when watching it was how cheap the set pieces looked and how cartoonishly bad the cinematography was. To each their own though.
