Take A First Look At Brainiac's Skull-Shaped Ship In This New KRYPTON Featurette

Yesterday, we got our first look at Krypton's comic accurate take on Brainiac and now a new featurette sheds some light on what to expect from the villain, while also revealing his skull-shaped spaceship.

There hasn't been a huge amount of positivity surrounding Syfy's Krypton but that changed yesterday with the debut of a first look at the show's take on Brainiac. Now, a new behind the scenes look at the show has been released and as well as shedding a little more light on Blake Ritson's take on the iconic Superman villain, we get to see concept art (around 0:33) depicting his massive skull-shaped ship.

That's been part of Brainiac's arsenal since the early 1980s when the character was reintroduced as a robot. However, Krypton appears to be taking the vast majority of its inspiration from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Action Comics run from 2008 which saw them bring back the one true Brainiac as an organic villain. The question is, will the show end up meeting the expectations of comic book fans?

We'll have to wait and see on that front but the show is set to debut on March 21st, so we'll find out soon enough. Are you satisfied with this take on Brainiac? Weigh in with your thoughts down below.

You know what, this is actually very impressive.

But ultimately what this shows is that they could have done a proper Superman TV show if they tried to.

@BlindWedjat - I would have done a space show, but the options are too expensive, like green lanterns.

Prehaps just a adam strange show.

@BlindWedjat -
Yeah it's such a pity, cause this looks awesome, so rather than a prequel tv show, we could've had a great Superman tv show! :/

They should've done a proper Superman tv series, and especially in this iteration/universe. That would've been awesome....

Impressive no doubt. If only this sort of imagination went into the Kryptonian attire.

Man, Geoff is behind this, and they are taking inspiration from his comics, Superman: Braniac, so this is great.
I'd like to see Braniac eventually on the big screen, but probably not in MOS 2.

Cause, damn guys, we can't have 3 alien invasions (Zod, Steppenwolf, Brainiac) back to back ahaha! :P

SyFy and DC are having a baby and it looks far better than it should.

However, I suspect the bed will be shat at some point and I'm not a fan of retconned history.

Maybe Disney will buy DC and Krypton can crossover with the Star Wars EU bullshit that was 30,000 years before ESB...

Scorpius from Farscape is my all time favorite TV show baddie.... but Blake Ritson as Brainiac could be a game changer.
This looks good!

This featurette definitely shows promise. But, damn, does Brainiac look awesome. This has got to be one of the scariest renditions of a supervillain I have ever seen. I honestly can’t remember any supervillain from any comic movie that looked scarier than that.

Brainiac looks cool, but seeing Geoff Johns and his stupid baseball cap is like a red flag trigger. This gullible acceptance of Johns as some kind of master and authority over all things DC is ridiculous. No wonder why DC's library of intellectual properties is currently in such a state of disarray.
