TV Line report that Tom Ellis has landed the title role in Fox's Lucifer, which is based on the incarnation of the character first introduced in Neil Gaiman's Sandman. The Welsh actor is best known stateside for his role the first Robin Hood in TV's Once Upon A Time. The pilot will be directed by Len Wiseman (the Total Recall remake, Underworld), who will also executive produce along with Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. The original logline for the show was pretty similar to the comic series, and had Lucifer growing tired with his infernal responsibilities and relocating to LA where he opened an exclusive piano bar called Lux. Now it seems it's "undergone an evolution toward a police procedural", with the character getting his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Does this have a hope in Hell of being good? Let us know what you think in the usual place.

That wasn't meant in bad taste, Ror. It was a joke! Why did you have to delete it and make me feel like an asshole!

Seems like a great guy. Too nice a guy to play the devil perhaps? I enjoyed him in Miranda.

Okay then.

I've got no idea what Lucifer is, but I probably will give it a watch 'cause I'll be living alone next year and finally have control of the television.

Was that good?

Is there on word on if this is going to connect to any other DC shows?

The whole Lucifer and Hell concept in Sandman was very intriguing. I would love to hera a reference about Morpheus and the other Endless.

Changing the story just made this boring.

Hmmmmm. I'm not familiar with this comic but from what I read it kinda reminds me of Dexter. Lucifer helping to punish criminals. Sounds interesting enough to give it a shot.

90% of the stuff Fox does fails. This will likely be no different. I for one am completely over 'police procedural' anything. Yawn. And Len Wiseman should probably go back to film school.

also, this dude was robin hood on once upon a time for like 2 episodes before they re-cast him with a different actor who was then promoted to a bigger role. Doesn't give one much faith.
