The first trailer for Peacemaker will be released during next Saturday's DC FanDome event, though various sneak peeks for The Suicide Squad spinoff continue to find their way online.
Shared as part of the New York Comic-Con yesterday, we now have a new poster for the series starring John Cena as Christopher Smith. We've yet to try out that QR code or phone number, but something tells us that both might be worth checking out as they could unlock new content.
There's a lot of excitement surrounding Peacemaker, and it could prove to be an exciting, funny ride.
"I loved the 1970s Captain America [TV movie] when I was a kid," writer and director James Gunn recently told EW. "I thought making a really f***ed-up version of that with Peacemaker would be fun." He adds that this is "the most incredible TV show people will ever see," revealing "I would like to do a season 2. They just have to tell me that they want to do it."
The series is set to premiere on HBO Max in January 2022. As noted, the first trailer is set to be debut next weekend, and we're hoping that finally reveals the world-ending threat Smith has been enlisted to counter. Gunn has previously said it's "something catastrophic that's facing the planet."
