A website titled PeacemakerIsComing.com launched yesterday evening, and with it comes a brand new clip from the DC Comics series, Peacemaker (obviously). However, it's also accompanied by the news that the next trailer for the series - which premieres on HBO Max on January 13 - will drop online on December 3. We don't know the exact time, but will have it for you the second it arrives.
While there wasn't much to like about Christopher Smith in The Suicide Squad, it's easy enough to see why Warner Bros. wanted to move forward with a spinoff for the character as he was still a lot of fun to spend time with. John Cena can be thanked for that in many ways, and he has solid comedic timing in this sneak peek with a back and forth that culminates with "F*** Aquaman!"
The comedy is very much in the same vein as The Suicide Squad, so you'll either find it riotously funny or sit there with a straight face. Either way, we're definitely excited to see more from this one.
"Peacemaker will explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn's 2021 film, 'The Suicide Squad,'" reads the new synopsis, "a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it."
The series stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith. Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed five, including the first.
