"Who am I without Supergirl?" - After receiving an ultimatum to unveil her identity and subsequently being fired from the DEO, Kara's going to have a bit of an identity crisis when she returns in January.

Kara (Melissa Benoist) hasn't been having the greatest month as not only did President Baker (Bruce Boxleitner) force her to unveil her identity, he also fired her from the DEO, which means she may soon find herself the number one target for her former co-workers, including her sister Alex (Chyler Leigh).

With her secret identity being questioned yet again, Kara will have a major identity crisis as she attempts to separate herself from her super-powered alter-ego as she works to protect Alex, J'onn (David Harewood), Brainy (Jesse Rath), and everyone she cares about.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

I find it interesting that certain writers on this site stopped making the articles about ratings once a majority of people started to agree that Agents of Shield was a great show. lol

It's not the first time Kara goes through an identiy crisis and I thought it should be over after she worked it through the first half of S3. But, given the context of where we left off with the public siding with Agent Liberty and now she being on bad terms with the President and thus a persona-non-grata at the DEO if she can't solve things as Supergirl when her articles aren't doing it with the alien conflict, then what can she do.

I imagine that's her plight here. Maybe this pushes her to focus on training Nia more so that the two work together as a team and can try to be one step ahead of the Children of Liberty with her powers.

But as of right now I really wanna see Red Daughter. It's about time and that will drive the story a lot more forward.

I think the idea that she is “working for the DEO” is dumb anyway. Supergirl and Superman shouldn’t work for any government organization. Yes they can assist but not at the point of working for or being fired. I don’t personally like the idea of a superhero taking orders. Hopefully she stays fired and embraces her destiny.

@whynot - Same. I didn't even know that she was "Working for them" until they made it a point in the episode this season when she was hurt by the Kryptonite in the air.

They really need to fire the director of this show and replace them with someone more creativity. Instead they keep repeating the identity crisis all the time with this show.
