SUPERGIRL Season 2, Episode 7 Promo; "The Darkest Place" - Cyborg Superman Revealed?

In this first look at next week's episode of Supergirl, we see Guardian in serious trouble as the Girl of Steel goes head to head with someone who looks an awful lot like, well, Cyborg Superman!

Those of you who were hoping to see Supergirl take on a Cyborg Superman resembling the character's comic book counterpart look set to be sorely disappointed next week based on the promo below. As you can see, Hank Henshaw appears to be attacking the hero, but chances are that he's the real Hank who was killed and replaced by Martian Manhunter (albeit with some serious power upgrades).

While we've known for a while that this Cyborg Superman wouldn't look like Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel, the fact that the villain is just Hank in regular clothes is definitely disappointing. Here's hoping the show surprises us by revealing some more robotic features as his fight with Supergirl rages on.

IT’S SUPERGIRL VS. CYBORG SUPERMAN — While Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by CADMUS. While fighting to free Mon-El, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Robert Rovner & Paula Yoo.

I wonder if they will make the original Hank look like Val-Zod when he is in Superman garb. I really enjoyed tonight's episode and I thought Parasite and Guardian looked really cool, but I think the Alex story was a little too in your face instead of handled more subtle like Curtis Holt.

@SKOne - I get it, but Alex is more of a main character than Curtis, so it kind of makes sense.

I wish they would stop treating gay characters like "holy sh!t... he's gay!". I like the way they treat Captain Holt on Brooklyn Nine Nine. He's just a regular guy and everyone treats him that way. He just also happens to be gay. I think more people would be more accepting of gay characters and gay folks in general if they were portrayed in movies and tv as regular folks instead of "the gay character". I think they do a decent enough job with Curtis. I hope they go that way with Alex as well.

Or maybe...that's just Martian Manhunter under the influence of drugs? Or the White Martian blood? I doubt the promo would reveal the actual Cyborg Superman.

Parasite kicked some serious ass, though. I hope he comes back.

The coming out thing was pretty damn awkward. Maggie was right tho. Alex only went for her. Blew up in her face. They really need to balance the personal stuff better BTW.

Parasite was pretty good. Not exactly Alex Ross-like but alien looking nonetheless.

@JoshWilding @RorMachine

I'm assuming no one's going to post the article for the Gotham promo?

This show is sooooo cheesy and quite bad that I honestly think that they can pull off Mister Mxyzptlk for a few episodes. Since he's from the Fifth Dimension, he should be completely cartoonish CG. Similar to the recent live action Spongebob movie.

Ugh, why should I even care at this point? This show is so obnoxiously condescending and preachy. This show is the left-wing equivalent (possibly worse) of a ham-fisted low-budget Christian film, it's almost hilarious. I've got better things to do than waste time on this crap tv.

drunk Kara is so adorable.
also, did this show just pay homage to John Carpenter's The Thing, one of my all-time favorite movies? extra points JUST for that.

the J'onn/Megan thing is f*cking weird, just saying. I mean, weird in the sense that in Young Justice they have a father/daughter relationship, here they're going for love interest, apparently.

@Spidey91 -

On the CW,just about every relationship is a love interest.

Interesting. I'm sure as they fight, he'll lose skin and reveal his robotic parts/look. Disappointed it's not Dean Cain, though.

Didn't see tonight's episode but from comments I'm guessing more gay or not gay plot, James Olsen wannabe vigilante and some stealing from John Carpenter.
Awesome.

Was loving Supergirl through season 1 and up until episode 3 or 4 of season 2, then they started loosing. It's like they just took a 360 on writing quality and everything contained therein. Maybe it's just me, but after episode 6, not sure ill be watching anymore, didn't even finish tonight's episode, very disappointing for me.

Nuts to that original Hank stuff, if't Manhunter reacting to the transfusion of white martian blood that has in in "kill you" mode.....

I don't know enough about the white martians. What will happen to Jonn getting the white martian blood transfusion?
