SUPERGIRL Star Tyler Hoechlin Thanks Fans For The Positive Response To His Take On Superman

Is Tyler Hoechlin a better Superman than Henry Cavill? Many fans believe so, but regardless of which side of the fence you fall on, the response to his Man of Steel has been overwhelmingly positive so far. Whether or not that will lead to him getting a series of his own on The CW remains to be seen, but you can probably bet your life that he'll continue to appear on Supergirl after this first two episode stint.

It turns out that the actor is every bit as humble as the character he plays because in a new interview with Comic Book Resources, he was quick to thank fans for the way they've been talking about his take on Superman. That's something both Warner Bros. and The CW must have noticed too, and while their focus is probably on the big screen version of the hero, here's hoping they prioritise this one too.

"It’s one of those things going into it where I knew that there would always be strong opinions. He’s a character that been around a long time and everyone has a pre-existing idea of what they want it to be, what it should be to them. So that’s just kind of something you accept. We, again had things that we found interesting and that’s something we committed to and at the end of the day that’s a nice thing as an actor because you know if people enjoy it, then great. They enjoyed your vision of it and what you kind of liked about it as well. If they don’t like it then at least you missed with your own intention. It sucks when you try something that you think maybe isn’t the right thing but maybe someone else will think is right, and then it still misses. Because then you might as well have at least tried it your way."

I think his take on Superman was very good, hopefully he'll be a recurring character and not just in the first two episodes. Overall the CW shows have been really good so far. Marked improvement in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow already from last year. If Arrow does a good job with the Prometheus storyline I think they can makeup for the last two lackluster seasons.

I like him better than Cavill. Cavill definitely looks more like the character and he's a good actor, but I don't like the way Snyder is portraying him.
