James Wan-Produced SWAMP THING Series Looks Set To Begin Filming This Fall
An official launch date for the DC Universe streaming service still hasn't been announced, but the service is already on track to begin shooting their highly anticipated live-action Swamp Thing series...
While we’ve heard the DC Universe streaming service could launch as soon as this August, no official launch date has been given for platform. However, that doesn't mean the folks involved aren’t hard at work developing their slate of live-action and animated series. Already, we've seen production start on Titans and Young Justice Season 3, and now Omega Underground claims we can expect their live-action Swamp Thing series to begin filming sometime this fall in North Carolina.
Not a lot of details on the show have been revealed, but we do know of some of the creative people attached to the project. Among the names connected to Swamp Thing is Aquaman director James Wan and showrunners Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman.
Also, some character breakdowns have shed some light on what kind of story they will be telling. This includes suggesting that Swamp Thing will put a lot of focus on Abby Arcane’s hometown, and will see Abby develop a relationship the Protector of the Green that is similar to that seen in The Shape of Water.
