THE FLASH Season 4 Featurette Promises A "Restart" For The CW Series And Teases New Thinker Details

For the first time ever, the Flash is going to face a big bad who is NOT a speedster when the show's fourth season kicks off and you can find more details on that and its new direction after the jump...

Season three of The Flash took the Scarlet Speedster down a very dark path as he battled Savitar, a twisted future version of himself. However, when The CW series returns next month, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg promises that the show is going to return to its fun roots as we get something of a "restart" after a year which was criticised for being a little too much like, well, Arrow

"Last season got really dark, and on purpose. We wanted to do that. We’re not gonna out-dark ourselves. We really wanted to… pivot and sort of lean in to like fun and light and brightness. So the title of the premiere is actually ‘The Flash Reborn,’ and for
us it’s sort of like a little bit of a restart and diving into sort of more comedy and more fun, and more brightness and more excitement."

That definitely sounds like the right move for The Flash and when the series returns, the Fastest Man Alive is going to be pitted against a very different sort of foe in the form of non-speedster The Thinker.

"We tend to think of the Flash as an athlete, like a runner," Kreisberg adds. "So much of his previous seasons have been about training harder, ‘I have to run faster,’ but he’s up against a villain this season that he can’t outrun. It’s somebody he has to
out-think, and it’s going to take him and Cisco and Caitlin and a few other surprise people to be able to get one step ahead of the Thinker."

Are you looking forward to the return of The Flash? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

For the fans of the Fringe tv series this is nothing new, most season became "useless" but that was never the point.
Unlike other charcters, Barry remembers everything, so the journey matters.

@Mamamartha - Exactly. The humour in these things is so badly written / directed.

@Invasion96 - The Flash is the only CW show I check in on. And even my attention span for that is hanging by a thread.

I'm done with the CWverse. I had fun but its the same stuff again and again. Humour as well in these things is so hammy and full of cringe that I don't think I could hack this show anymore.

@Antoin - I feel you. It was fun early on but now I'm done. I still watch Legends from time to time as it's probably the only one that's still fun to me. I'm done with the rest.

my advice for people who want to watch the Flash TV Series

1.Watch Season 1

2.AVOID EVERYTHING AFTER THAT
