DC All Access recently caught up with Alan Tudyk, Vanessa Hudgens, and Danny Pudi to discuss their new NBC show,
Powerless. Speaking to the series lead, Hudgens told DCAA, "
Powerless is DC Comic' first comedy. It's very exciting. Normally, superheroes are really glamorized and looked up to, our show isn't really about them. It's about people who live in a world filled with them. We work at an insurance company so we're the people who pick up after the supers." For more from Tudyk and Pudi, check out the video below.
The basic plot of
Powerless actually reminds me of a scene from
The Incredibles where
Mr. Incredible saves a man from committing suicide only to be sued by that same individual for an injured neck. The legal ramifications of that court case is what prompted many of the superheroes to go into retirement. That outcome is unlikely for
Powerless, seeing that A-list heroes like
Superman,
Batman and
Wonder Woman (they'll be mentioned, but never appear) inhabit that fictional world. Still, it's definitely a similar concept.
