Jon Cassar Set To Direct And Executive Produce 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY
He directed 59 episodes of 24 AND the 24: Redemption TV movie, so it should come as very good news to fans to learn that Jon Cassar will helm the first two instalments of the new limited series.
TV Line reports that Jon Cassar is set to return as both a director and executive producer of 24: Live Another Day. He's no stranger to the franchise as he previously helmed 59 episodes of its original run and was responsible for the impressive 24: Redemption TV movie which bridged the gaps between seasons six and seven. "I'm excited to call 'action!' again on the set of the resurrected 24," Cassar said in a statement released by Fox today. "Considering I was not involved in Season 8, this… gives me the chance for closure on a show that is very important to me." As well as the opening two episodes, it's believed that Cassar will also helm multiple other instalments of the 12 episode run. "Jon was a profoundly integral part of 24 creatively and culturally. It doesn’t feel like it would be 24 without him, and we’re all just really thrilled to be working with him again," added showrunner Howard Gordon.
