If your not excited for this, you should be! Even if you haven't read the novels upon which it's based. It's a great achievement to adapt such a layered and detailed fantasy story for the small screen has the potential to be something very special.

A Game of Thrones will premiere April 17th 2011 on HBO.

MY uncle auditioned for this. He had to film himself dressed in a cloak. It was so funny. This looks good though. Hope it is

Boromir lives! Although I'm completely unfamiliar with these tales it kinda seems like cliche' fantasy. The look is nice, though.

I am thoroughly stoked to watch this series! Great cast and excellent story. It will probably deliver more than many of the films released this year.

This is a great advancement in this genre of film. I am currently working on film adaptations of The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan. I can't wait till that series makes it to the silver screen!

I'm excited for this series as well, I'm very pleased to see that HBO is doing the series, particularly after seeing what network tv did to the "Sword of Truth" series.

I am a bit confused about how they are going to ALL the things that Martin has thrown in to even the first novel alone in one season. I mean, in order to really do the the books justice they'd need 2 seasons per book. Which just isn't going to happen.

I suppose that if I'd leave out anything it would have to be portions of the Arya and Caitlyn story lines, and perhaps some of the Bran story line. It will be interesting to see what they do with Jon Snow and Daenerys and some of the more fantasy based elements of the show given the typical HBO show audience. It seems that they'd have to cut back on several aspects of the story in a limited TV series.

The good thing is that perhaps this is the inspiration that Martin needs to finally finish the last couple texts.

For Winterfell1!!
For the King in the North!!

These books are awesome! I can't wait for Dance with Dragons. I can't believe we've been waiting 3 years for this book and yet he has time to adapt the first book for HBO. It's awesome that HBO took a chance on this though because only them or Showtime could do it justice.
@Layperson- They better do the Dany storyline that's the best part of the first book.

These books are so incredible! I can't wait to see the series. Not sure how they will fit so much material in 10 eps for even the 1st book. Those that haven't read the books, this is gonna be so different from anything you've seen or read before.
