Yeah not liking Daario's look..at all.

Is that....TOM WELLING? 0_o
Yea, Daario is SUPPOSED to look silly and flamboyant, with his wild blue hair and Sword hilts that are shaped like whores. It's what gets his enemies to underestimate him. His goofy looks is actually makes his character. Here he just looks like a generic scarred warrior type.

Not how I imagined Daario. Hopefully he will stay true to Daario's personality considering he is definitely a fan favorite.

That not how Daario supposed to look a like I hope they get the personality right at least. Dany looks good

i love the changes. that look from the books could never work imo. and i dislike him already, so it's all good.

Doesn't look like Daario at all.
I like the actor, he's fine, but the changes are still too big.

@ckal you think that an average viewer would have no problems with dany falling for the guy with golden teeth, blue hair and trident beard? LOL. clearly you have no idea what it takes to make a good tv show and a decent adaptation at the same time.

MarkCassidy - 11/1/2012, 7:48 AM
Rebellion, disagree on that..it's Daario's unusual look that attracts Dany..that and his bravery and good looks, which would still be evident if they stuck a beard and a gold tooth on the guy!

yeah, it works in the book. you can read what she's thinking and how he reminds her of drogo.. but on the screen.. i don't think so. it's okay if some people dislike it but i think it's ignorant as [frick] to say it's disrespectful to the grrm and the books. if that was true, every single adaptation ever made could be called a bastardization of the source material.

^^ Read my post again. This isn't another case of fanboys nitpicking, it's an actual case of changing a major aspect of the character. It's like not giving the Joker a smile, or green hair, or white skin. So yea, his blue hair, gold teeth and flamboyant attitude IS what's needed.

So... we now have the Bane of Game of Thrones. :-P He's one character, so I will live with it, as long as they get the personality right. Not sure how from that photo we can establish whether he has gold teeth or not, being we can't see his teeth. ;-)

oh please. if he can act cocky and arrogant, he's fine. and this is daario we're talking about. you do realize he's not that important anyways? he's just a mercenary dany falls for and that's it. that's his purpose. i could care less about what he looks like.

Isn't GRRM writing all the episodes or has heavy presence on them. Everything has his approval so I say go with it.

You must understand there is a line between Books and Movie/Show adaptions there will always be a difference for the better of material.

As long as they don't change the actual character I won't mind too much, certainly don't see it as "disrespectful", I do however see it as unnecessary. What's the point in not having him look a little more like his description in the books?. Maybe they have their reasons of course.
rebellion
rebellion - 11/1/2012, 8:35 AM
@ckal maybe the reason is that the actor could nail the character but just didn't look good with the beard and blue hair?
and about renly. he didn't look like renly, but obviously i don't care much about the looks of less impportant characters. it's his acting that matters and it was atrocious.

I'm glad they ditched the blue hair. Would have looked horribly silly on screen, especially as the rest of the characters have realistic looks.

What matters is how the actor portrays Daario, and he already has a "Punch me" face, so I think this will work out just fine.

Seriously, people getting so angry over the lack of blue hair :/
Carne
Carne - 11/1/2012, 8:52 AM
The reason he doesn't have a beard is because they obviously don't want to hide his face.

idk, maybe they couldn't afford to ruin a wig. those can be really expensive.. maybe they had trouble making it look subtle..who knows..
about loras.. yeah, they ruined him too. renly/loras was poorly executed and i blame the actors. sure, they were poorly written but their expressions were painful to watch and whenever they spoke, it sounded so unauthentic, like they are reading a teleprompter.

@Ckal

Actually I thought they were spot on with with Jaqen H'ghar look well perhaps not spot on but good enough. Unless there is a better description because i'm actually in the middle of reading A Clash of Kings right now it reads "His Hair was red on one side and grey on the other, All matted and filthy from travels." Page 31. Like I said I have not gotten that far to where he is at Harrenhal so his image could be adjusted. Just saying ya'll are knit picking for no reason, if it works then it works.

Let me put it this way.
He looks like a Lannister, instead of a rouge-ish Mercenary Leader. Let that sink in, people.

Just like to say him having blue hair wouldn't necessarily look out of place. As GRRM has stated a lot of GOT is based on British history and if you think Braveheart and the blue woad the Celts used in battle, it would actually make sense.
