Last night during Marvel Studios' D23 presentation, Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio took the stage along with Kevin Feige to chat about the upcoming Disney+ series. They didn't really share any major new details, but Cox was a little more forthcoming during a follow-up interview with XtraTV.
The Kin actor says he's still mostly in the dark (no pun intended) when it comes to Born Again having yet to see a script, but he did clarify that the show will not be a continuation of the now cancelled Netflix series.
"My feeling is, based on the title Born Again, I think that the sense is it is a new beginning, it is going to be different, it is going to be totally different. It is going to be new stories, and new ideas.”
“It is a Season 1, it is not Season 4, so it is a whole new thing. Which I think is the way to go. If you are going to do it again, do it differently,” he added.
With Cox and D'Onofrio reprising their respective roles, it's easy enough to understand how there'd be some confusion, but it sounds like we're in store for a soft reboot that will largely ignore the events of the Netflix show.
Check out the video interview below, along with some officially released photos from the presentation.
Daredevil: Born Again is sure to take certain elements of the Marvel Comics arc of the same name, but a faithful adaptation of that bleak story is highly unlikely. We still don't know if the likes of Karen Page or Foggy Nelson will appear, but a recent rumor did point to Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle showing up.
