THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Set Photos Hint At A Connection To A HULK Supporting Character

Eagle-eyed fans have snapped set photos from Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ TV series that seemingly hint at the presence of a long-absent Incredible Hulk supporting character.

Marvel Studios loves to tease that everything is connected in the MCU, so could this seemingly innocent set photo from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier lead to bigger things to come in the previously announced She-Hulk Disney+ series?

A Twitter user (see below) has snapped a photo that appears to indicate that Samson Development will play a role in the Malcolm Spellman spearheaded television show. Some Marvel fans are wondering if that company will turn out to be owned by Doc Samson, a character played by Ty Burrell in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. With so much of Falcon and the Winter Soldier still shrouded in mystery, could the limited series revolve around another attempt to recreate the super-soldier formula or the tangentially-related process that resulted in the creation of Abomination?

Disney is said to be holding a special event on March 5th for the official launch of Disney+ in Europe where Marvel Studios will reportedly unveil new details about all the MCU shows planned for the streaming platform. Perhaps we will get new details on Falcon and the Winter Soldier and how Zemo and U.S. Agent factor into whatever mission Sam and Bucky are attempting to complete.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is currently scheduled for release in August 2020 and will consist of six episodes. Reports state the Disney/Marvel are spending upwards of $25 million per episode. The series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the titular heroes, along with Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent. More recently, Carl Lumby was confirmed to have a supporting role in the series, with some speculating that he's playing Isaiah Bradley, the African-American test-subject the U.S. government used to try and recreate the Super Soldier formula.

It’s still weird to me that Ty Burrell played Doc Samson in The Incredible Hulk.

@tmp3 - Why not. Bring Ty Burrell back too. Watchmen is over, so is Modern Family, they could both be looking forsome work

I'm really questioning how much of this TV stuff will be essential viewing. The MCU avoided the comic book canon problem by separating major story lines from the rest of what was happening and even then some films (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers 1 and 2, Civil War) were essential to understand things like Infinity War and Endgame.

Now we have TV shows introducing origins of all sorts of weird, interesting and obscure stuff. Their origins presumably wont be revisited for the films proper I imagine even most MCU fans will end up lost about a few details.

I'm also wondering at this point if the MCU will just become a legit TV series. TV is way more effective at long form storytelling and they have introduced the time travel element which has always done well on TV and less so in theaters. I wonder how this gamble will pay off.

@Comicbookart - Well, the box office is on a downwards trend while Disney+ subscriptions are projected to go upwards, so... long term, the future of entertainment might just be streaming anyways. Assuming we all make it that long.

@Comicbookart - Pretty sure they want to keep making those billions of dollars at the movie box office.

I think the tv shows will be connected about as much as Capt Marvel was connected to Endgame. Sure, it was “connected”, but no more than you could explain in 13 seconds.

$25 per episode? Am I the only one that thinks that’s a bit much for a 1 hour episode? Idk, maybe not.. seems a tad high...
