HAWKEYE Star Hailee Steinfeld Reveals Whether Kate Bishop Was Among Those Snapped Away By Thanos

While Marvel Studios has definitely addressed the fallout from Thanos' attack on Earth in Avengers: Infinity War, it does feel a little like they've glossed over the ramifications of the Blip now the world's population has been restored. Not getting too bogged down in all of that is understandable, but fans continue to wonder which characters were among those dusted out of existence.

During a recent interview with The Wrap, Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld was asked if Kate Bishop was among the characters who turned to dust when the power of the Infinity Stones was unleashed. "No, I believe that we see her survive and we see, you know, loss there as well," Steinfeld confirms. "And that didn’t happen to her."

From a storytelling perspective, there was probably nothing to be gained from revealing that Kate was among those who died, especially when this series takes place two years after Avengers: Endgame.

We're sure the Blip will continue to factor into future stories to some extent, with it affecting some characters more than others (Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, for example, will likely see Scott Lang having to deal with a daughter who is now five years older than she was when he got lost in the Quantum Realm).

As for Hawkeye, the plan is clearly to keep the spotlight on Kate's journey towards becoming a hero.

In our review, we said"Marvel Studios is once again sleigh-in' it with Hawkeye, an unmissable Christmastime team-up bringing holiday cheer to the MCU with top tier storytelling delivered in the Mighty Marvel Manner and a bold, brilliant new hero in Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop."

Is this something we will ask every MCU actor from now to the end of time?

Does anyone care at this point when the blip (dying and then returning after the world has moved on for 5 years) has no effect on the characters beyond in Endgame and a single character in WandaVision?

The Blip should have been this massive potential for story telling and they are just ignoring it - I guess because exploring it would weaken Iron Man's choice not to erase the 5 year gap which he could have done.

@Scarilian - Lmao nearly all the shows so far have been aftermath of the snap. They aren't ignoring it. Please stop acting like you've watched any of these shows, we all know you havent.

@Scarilian - The snap was a major plot point in eternal. Stop nitpicking.

@Scarilian - ….it’s literally the foundation of conflict for the main antagonist of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

A whole article about this wow, amazing. Also, if you watched Hawkeye then you know she survived the snap considering her age at the begining of ep 1 and later when shes 22

I think it's pretty obvious with young people that you notice a difference, and that wasn't the case here. Same with Shang-Chi (who I just realized is only supposed to be 24 I guess) and Cassie. They would've all looked a lot younger if they were snapped.

I don't understand why people complaining about the Blip but praise how often we return to the battle of New York. "I don't see how anything can be gaining visiting the sanp" "if she was or wasn't, doesn't change anything"

Are you people nuts? That has just as much potential for trauma and story potential as the battle of New York but on a literal universal scale. Half of all life across all reality... died. Then 5 years later suddenly came back. People who you loved moved on without you. You true love is now married with kids to someone else. Your sick parent died without you. Your children who needed you are now messed up because they had a bad childhood after you died. Like SO much potential drama and story to gleam from the blip. And we have seen a lot, but not as much as the aftermath from New York.

It’s obvious that anyone and everyone experienced loss during The Blip

The Snap sounds so much better than The Blip.

@marvel72 - Agree. However, the snap is the name for the fact that people dissapeared. And the blip is the five years period where people was absent before coming back.

@marvel72 - In that case, i have nothing else to say. I hate it too. Well, I would just add that Peter-tingle is even worse.

@Turogalh - Peter-Tingle/Spider-Tingle is the worse.

Just call it Spider-Sense.

I missed the part where they stated in the 2 episodes that the story takes place 2 years after Endgame.
