At 95 years old, Stan Lee has devoted much of his life to Marvel, essentially creating the universe we all know and love today. But it may be time to finally give the legend a rest.
New videos of Stan Lee's recent appearance at Silicon Valley Comic Con have been published online, and it isn't pretty or easy to watch. Lee, who
recently overcame a bout of pneumonia, can be seen in the videos below struggling greatly to perform the basic function of signing his name on Marvel memorabilia. His handlers are seen not only repeatedly reminding him of his name, but also at times verbally spelling it out for him. Even then, Comic Con attendees who paid for the meet-and-greet claim the signature look like "doodling circles." While some seemed more upset over the lack of value they'd get for Stan Lee's signature, many were more concerned with Lee's appearance - as he looks incredibly worn down and fatigued, almost zombie-like. Check out the videos below, but be warned: they are incredibly painful and heartbreaking to watch.
Ruining our valuable books! Besides ruining the amount of THOUSANDS of dollars we invested into pressing, signing fees at $140 each X (15), then grading fees with shipping! Literally abusing Stan Lee's state of mind NOT COOL. Doing circles, not knowing how to spell his name correctly, that even his handler helped him finish his own signature, wow! It's hard to see, but looked as if he was ready to pass out as well. It was rumored that his daily minimum signing window was 500 signatures per day, so hosting a signing an event at $140 per each signature (excluding purchasing pre-signing tickets at $120 each) "500 sig'sX$140=$210,000.00. A bit over 1/5 of a million RECORDED SALES! I mean for the garbage signatures received doodling circles, is this ethical?! I'm sure @cbcscomics wont accept circles as Stan Lee's autograph, and call is "signature verified." Will Stan Lee promoters do anything to make this right? Ruined Tales to Astonish 1, Astonishing Tales 1 and many others. The handler with the blue-shirt folded the shit out our high grade copy of Avengers 4, 1st appearnace of Captain America in the Silverage era. @stanleecollectibles @stanleebox @therealstanlee @kirbymuseum @jacked_kirby @sjnews @ktla5news @fox11talknow #marvelcomics #stanlee #igcomicfamily #igcomics #igcomicbooks #igcomix #igsocial #cbsi #thecomiccoalition #muttsofinstagram #igcomiccommunity #igcomicbookcommunity #instacomics #xmen #comiccollection #comiccollecting #comiccollector #igcomicbookfamily #comicbooks #viral

As sad as it is may be to come to this realization, it looks it's finally time for comic book fans to give Stan Lee a break and let him enjoy his remaining time in some peace. It's painful to see what's happening with the Marvel legend, especially when you consider the reports that it's those closest to him taking advantage of his fame. In recent weeks it has been reported that
Stan Lee is victim to physical and psychological abuse, as people close to him have reportedly "conspired to seize Stan Lee's financial assets, and use his icon status for their own benefits." In perhaps the most shocking story, it was reported that
Stan Lee's blood was stolen in order to use it on signed materials featuring "DNA Ink."
It's time we give Stan Lee a break. We owe it to him.
