Back in November when it was announced that in lieu of a feature film, Marvel Entertainment & ABC were heading into production on a television series centered around Black Bolt and the Inhumans, we learned that they planned on premiering the series in IMAX this September, with the rumored release date, at the time, being September 4.

However, as expected, that's now changed and it's been officially revealed, via the official social media pages, that the first two episodes of the series will exclusively debut in IMAX screens on Friday, September 1 and run for two weeks before heading to the small screen later that month, presumably September 26, to kick off its eight-episode run.

Roel Reiné (Admiral, Death Race 2) is helming the first two episodes, both of which are being filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras. A slightly different version of the two-part premiere will air on television, with additional content that will be exclusive to the ABC Television Network.

We also have a new logo for the series, which updates the previously scrapped movie version. Check it out below:

The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.

Inhumans features:
Anson Mount as Black Bolt
Serinda Swan as Medusa
Iwan Rheon as Maximus
Ken Leung as Karnak
Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon
Isabelle Cornish as Crystal
Mike Moh as Triton
Sonya Balmores as Auran
Ellen Woglom in an undisclosed role

Inhumans premieres in IMAX September 1, everywhere else September 26

Cool. I like this concept. It feels like we are getting an extra superhero movie this year.

not gonna see it.

My theaters only have IMAX 3D, and I refuse to ever succumb to the horrors of 3D ever again.

@NoMeaning45 - Wait, is IMAX always in 3D? I've never been, so. And at least you can catch in on T.V. so it's not a big deal, I guess.

@ScarletWarlock - I though regular IMAX was just 2D, if I'm not mistaken?

@NoMeaning45 - Oh, I'm a dumb-dumb, you specifically say YOUR theaters only have 3D. But I think that IMAX might go hand in hand with 3D, because I see a lot of people complain to Gunn about seeing vol.2 in IMAX because they hate 3D. Well, I'm too lazy to see which is which, but it hardly matters because I live in a fairly small town with nothing resembling IMAX, and the closest theaters is probably over an hour away. NOT HAPPENING!

Damn, 2017 is totally gonna be Marvel's year.

This is what we get:

Iron Fist in March.

GOTG 2 in May

Spider-Man in July.

Defenders in July or August-

Inhumans in September.

Ragnarok in November.

Then we've also got Netflix Punisher confirmed for 2017.

Damn.

I remember the days, when I had to wait 2-3 years between every live-action Marvel installment. Now I barely have to wait 2 months.

And I didn't even mention the upcoming video games.

What a time to be alive.
