Marvel Studios made Marvel Television's Netflix projects "canon" shortly before Echo launched on Disney+ earlier this year. While we still expect the studio to pick and choose which characters and story beats they reference in the MCU, several familiar faces have already been enlisted.
Now, as we wait to see the likes of Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Vincent D'Onofrio (The Kingpin), and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) do their thing in next March's Daredevil: Born Again, the actors who played Netflix's Iron Fist and Jessica Jones have expressed an interest in joining them.
During a recent interview with The Nerd Shepherd, Danny Rand actor Finn Jones shared his belief that there's still "a lot of room for growth with that character." He added, "I think I'm in a place professionally where I would like to continue to grow with that character."
As for what he'd like that to look like, Jones said he remains eager to star in a Heroes for Hire series co-starring Mike Colter's Luke Cage.
"I would love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again. It was always fantastic. I think those are really interesting characters to put together," he teased. "If they would bring me and Mike back to do a Heroes For Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way."
There's been chatter online about Marvel Studios introducing a new Iron Fist in the upcoming Eyes of Wakanda animated series. Given how poorly reviewed Iron Fist was, Jones getting another chance to play the hero seems unlikely.
Many fans would also prefer to see an Asian actor play Iron Fist, with Lin Lie a strong contender to take Danny's place in the MCU.
In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter reiterated past comments that she's eager to play the hard-nosed private detective again.
"One hundred percent [I would return as Jessica Jones]," the actress told the trade. "I am ready, and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She's a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long."
"I played that character for five years, and she's a character who's very important to me and many women and men. So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already [Laughs]"
Jessica showing up in Daredevil: Born Again does make sense; that's already been rumoured to be the case with it previously reported that she had been lined up to appear in Echo before Marvel Studios' plans changed.
