IRONHEART Rumor Claims Riri Williams Will Indeed Square Off With The Hood In Upcoming Disney+ Series

We know Ironheart will make her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and a new rumour points to Riri Williams squaring off with an unexpected foe when her Disney+ series eventually arrives...

Very little is known about the Ironheart TV series on its way to Disney+, though Hamilton and In The Heights star Anthony Ramos has been tapped to play the show's villain.

We've heard that he could be a relation of Iron Man's Obidiah Stane, and it would certainly make sense to pit Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams against someone like Ezekiel. However, a new rumour points to the show's big bad being a very unexpected character: The Hood.

This news comes our way courtesy of scooper KC Walsh on Twitter, who told his followers recently, "So they really are putting The Hood in Ironheart...magic vs mechanics."

The Hood may not look like much on the surface, but he's a credible threat. A petty thief, Parker Robbins broke into a warehouse and shot and killed a demon residing there. Stealing its cloak and boots, he gained extraordinary powers and ultimately assembled a massive criminal empire.

Magic would get the better of him once he started toying with forces beyond his control, but The Hood has even taken aim at the Infinity Stones, so Ironheart won't find it easy to stop him. Given their lack of comic book history, we're intrigued by this decision, but there's definitely something fun about the idea of pitting science against magic.

We'll meet Riri for the first time in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with the anticipation being that she'll suit up for the first time there. Marvel Studios is likely banking on her being the MCU's new "Iron Man," so expect her to be a major player in this sequel, her own series, and most likely the upcoming Armor Wars show as well (that's expected to include Don Cheadle's War Machine).

Are you excited to see Ironheart potentially square off with The Hood? Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released on November 11, while Ironheart will likely premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023 or 2024.

don't you just hate it when that happens?

@Spidey91 - OMG I was thinking the exact same thing the other day! So dig this: last week I was craving a Slurpy. I mean HANGRY for a blue raspberry Slurpy like you wouldn't believe, but my closest 7-11 was closed for fumigation or some shit. And I NEEDED that Slurpy. So I did what anyone would do and me and Mr. Crowbar helped ourselves in through the back door but before we could get to the Slurpy machine we encountered a demogorgon (I think - it was hard to see with all that bug spray) and had to fight for our very survival. Needless to say, we made it out of there (with said Slurpy, I might add), but that demogorgon wasn't so lucky. In case you don't believe me, there was a story in the news the next day about an employee at that 7-11 who was attacked by that same demogorgon. Sorry to say but it was his own damn fault for being in the store when there was a demogorgon wandering around in it. I mean, what the hell did he think the fumigation was for? Jeeze.

Really wanted The Hood in the MCU but not in this to start.

Riri Williams will be fighting The Hood.

How ironic.

Is it wrong for me to be more excited for this character rather than Riri Williams?

@Blastaar -

It's only weird to be more excited about someone in a magic hood than someone in a robot suit if you decide to make it weird
Blastaar

@OmegaDaGrodd - I can't argue with that. The more believable one would definitely be Iron Heart. That said, I was really talking about a character that is even less known than Iron Heart herself.

I just like how realistic his character is, and how much of an anti-villain he is. His power set, ehh, well suspension of belief has been given a long time ago with these characters.

Thanks for your response, you're a veteran here, with some GREAT comments/replies, I don't agree with all of them but I respect the fact that I've only seen you make very intellectual and respectful comments.

@Blastaar - Being that she isn't a popular characters in the comic book market, it makes perfect sense that you would not be excited for her, neither were the comic book fans.

@TyrantBossMedia - Actually, I've been a comicbook reader since 1989. There are MANY unknown characters that I would LOOOVE to see on film. It's just that Iron Heart is not one of those legacy characters that I'm fond of, and The Hood is a peculiar character that is VERY complex, sort of a grey area anti-villain, and I LOVE those types of characters. He straddles the line of straight up villain and anti-villain.
Blastaar
Blastaar - 7/8/2022, 8:35 AM
@MILESSPIDERMAN - Actually that might not bode well with a villainous Black dude named Hood, and Iron Heart being a Black women/girl.

Wouldn't matter what Hood's race was, its not an integral part of his character.

You also failed on your attempt at your passive aggressive sarcasm attack.

For some reason I always confuse The Hood with The Cape (from that tv show no one remembers). Think it would be fun to see him show up here, but I rather see Zeke as the villain. Just makes more sense to me

I wonder if they're going to change his powers in some way. I don't really remember why he was so dangerous in the comics. Maybe I have a mental block, but it seemed like he was just a dude with pistols who could teleport using a magic hood. Not sure how that poses a threat to a character as theoretically powerful as Ironheart, but then I don't actually know how they're adapting her suit as well

The thing about that hood he wears is that it supposedly was connected to Dormammu IIRC. At least that is how I remember it in one of the Secret Invasions issues.

TyrantBossMedia
TyrantBossMedia - 7/7/2022, 4:02 PM
@NinnesMBC - I will not be surprised in the slightest if Marvel changes him to be a guy whose hood hides or contains some electronics that make him appear magical...like they did with Mysterio and Taskmaster.

For some reason Marvel likes to remove magic from many villains when it is an integral part of their character.

@TyrantBossMedia -
Except Mysterio was ALREADY like that in the comics - a former visual effects specialist who went into crime.

As for Taskmaster, it would be very easy to make this into a situation like Trevor and Wenwu - have Antonia Dreykov be trained by Tony Masters while undergoing physical therapy and mental conditioning after Budapest. Have Dreykov essentially pay Tony Master to let him use the mantle and a similar costume for his daughter, while allowing Masters to do whatever he wants incognito in the interim.
Frankly, I could Tony Masters popping up in Deadpool 3, given the characters' histories.

Man, capeshit is at a point where it's either scaping the bottom of the barrel or digging for the prize at the bottom of the cereal. Peacemaker got a show and we've being threatened with an El Muerto movie.

Fun either way. Not that interested in A listers that were already all over the place even before the pop culture explosion. Send in the clowns.
