While on the red carpet for Captain America: Civil War, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter reaffirmed previous statements that his solo Netflix drama will see Cage wearing his iconic yellow shirt and tiara. However, the way the show pays homage to Luke's original look will not be as straight forward as some purists might be hoping. “We were trying not to be on the nose. We’re going to give all the fans all the things they want. But we’ve got to bring it up a bit and step into the current time. So we’re going to make sure everybody’s happy, but don’t expect a yellow shirt every day. Let’s put it that way … We brought it to mustard. We started there. We knocked it down a bit. Not so bright.”
Netflix will release Luke Cage on September 30, 2016. Cheo Hodari Coker serves as executive producer. The cast includes Colter as Cage, Mahershala Ali as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Theo Rossi as Shades. Rosario Dawson will also guest star as Claire Temple.
SYNOPSIS: When a sabotaged experiment gives him super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive attempting to rebuild his life in Harlem and must soon confront his past and fight a battle for the heart of his city.
