New LUKE CAGE Season 2 Image Gives Us The Heroes For Hire Teamup We've Been Waiting For

We got a taste of Luke Cage and Danny Rand's budding friendship in The Defenders but a new image from season two of Power Man's show features them once again fighting together as Heroes for Hire...

Luke Cage and Danny Rand met for the first time in The Defenders and...well, they didn't exactly get on that well. However, it was easy to see them being able to form a friendship somewhere down the line and it looks like that will continue in Luke Cage season two. How long their reunion will last remains to be seen but this brand new image shows the two heroes (for hire?) side by side and ready for action.

It probably won't be here that we get to see Heroes for Hire form but showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has hinted that Iron Fist will end up influencing Luke's fighting style in the Marvel/Netflix series.

"Danny helps Luke channel his chi," Coker teases, promising we'll learn more when the show hits the online streaming service on June 22nd. What do you guys think of this new still? Are you disappointed that Danny still doesn't have a superhero costume? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

If any of these Netflix shows needed a new showrunner, I would think it would be this one. Seems like the only one that didn't get one though. Also GIVE DANNY THE F**KIN' SUIT.

Hope it's better than JJ season 2

Iron Fist is not beyond salvaging and the issues stem from more than him not wearing a costume but I just don't understand the notion behind a hoodie and jeans being more believable on screen for a guy called the Iron Fist than literally anything else

@DillonEnnis - I've said this a million times, give him the headband, and you can use a stunt double and get some really cool action beats.

Joaquin Phoenix is still being asked about The Joker...definitely playing coy.

You have this slate of upcoming projects with esteemed directors, and there’s another rumored one we haven’t yet discussed — namely, Todd Phillips’s movie about the Joker.
Who?

The Batman villain.
Oh! Oh, interesting. [Smiling.]

So you never know?
I don’t know what people do nowadays.

Is it just the internet?
It’s amazing.

Do superhero projects interest you at all?
It’s just the character and the filmmaker, right? Westerns were just comics, and then they began as s***ty Old West movies until somebody came along and said, “Wait a minute, there’s a great character here.” So I’m not opposed to them, or that genre. I mean, typically I don’t like horror stuff, but there’s obviously some brilliant horror movies. So I’m not opposed to a movie just because of the genre — it just depends on the character.

Even if it was the Joker?
What are you asking me? [Laughs.]

Any truth to the rumor that you’re doing that Joker movie?
Oh, no idea. [Smiling.] No idea. I look at so many different things, so I don’t know what is happening.

I want iron fist to have his costume as much as anyone else does, but I never expected them to give it to him on someone else's show. I'm just thankful he's showing up there at all. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get a suit in his own season 2.

I hope they get their costumes soon, but probably not.

But will Luke Cage be in Iron Fist season 2?

I'm assuming they'll be giving Danny his costume in his own show. Hopefully they do it quickly. The Bruce Lee inspired tracksuit and the mask could work really well, and like Daredevil it will allow them to us stunt doubles more easily and get superior fight sequences.

@MrDandy - that's a good point for stunt doubles

Iron Fist is my second favorite Marvel character and I have no excitement of watching anymore of this neutered version of the character.

I mean, if I'm being honest here, their interactions were by and large the best part about Defenders, so I'm not sure how anyone could spin this as bad.
