Over the past couple of days, we've been hearing a lot of rumours about Marvel Studios' plans for Moon Knight. Now, it appears the series really will hit Disney+ sooner than expected because the first teaser has been revealed ahead of a full-length trailer on Monday. The footage is going to debut during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup on ESPN/ABC, so you'll want to check back here during the evening.
What do we learn in this preview? Well, Marvel Studios definitely appears to be embracing the supernatural side of the character as opposed to his Batman-like vigilante persona from recent years.
We see Marc Spector's Mummy-like costume form around him, while the deranged hero is also fighting a creature of some sort near the end of the teaser. Could that be a vampire or even Gael Garcia Bernal's Werewolf-by-Night? The mysterious character appears to be somewhat hairy, so the latter is a definite possibility; either way, it looks like we're getting some brutal action scenes.
Ethan Hawke's unnamed villain also shows up, though we're no closer to knowing who this guy is.
Heading deeper into Phase 4, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is clearly about to embrace supernatural stories in a big way, and Moon Knight is looking like something very special indeed.
