MS. MARVEL Directors Reveal Kevin Feige Geeked Out When They Signed Up To Direct DC's BATGIRL Movie

Ms. Marvel directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have revealed that Marvel Studios Kevin Feige showed a lot of interest when they let him know they'd be making the leap to the DCEU to helm Batgirl...

After taking the helm of Bad Boys for Life for Sony Pictures, filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have started making their presence felt in both the Marvel and DC Universes. That long-awaited threequel was a hit, and the first episode of Ms. Marvel has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Now, all eyes are on what they'll deliver with DC's upcoming Batgirl movie.

We're excited for that blockbuster (even if it still doesn't have a release date after originally being eyed for a Christmas debut on HBO Max), and so is Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

"We wrote [Marvel Studios] an email that said we were going to do Batgirl, and then Kevin Feige, Victoria [Alonso] and Lou [D’Esposito] all said, 'Congratulations!'" Fallah recalled in an interview with THR. "They were super happy for us. People say there’s a rivalry, but it’s totally not like that. They make each other stronger, and we felt the vibe between DC and Marvel."

El Arbi added, "Yeah, they’re big fans of each other. Kevin was constantly asking questions, 'How’s it going? What’s going to happen?' He was a real fanboy, so that was pretty dope."

It's pretty awesome to think that Feige was chasing the directors for intel on Batgirl, especially as that's the sort of thing we all do as fans. The veteran executive has shared his support for the DC Extended Universe on multiple occasions, making it clear he wants all superhero movies to succeed regardless of the company making them (we also know he's a big Superman fan).

Unfortunately, while Feige is heading into a Galaxy Far, Far Away to produce a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm, there's no way Disney will be letting him lend his talents to the DCEU!

As noted, Batgirl is currently undated. Ms. Marvel, meanwhile, has started streaming on Disney+.
