The 2023 Emmy Award nominations were announced earlier today (via SFFGazette.com), and it might just be the biggest year for genre television yet.
Things were pretty quiet on the comic book/superhero front, but Ms. Marvel did pick up three nominations... though none in any big categories.
Kamala Khan's live-action debut was nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Limited Series, Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, and Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Series (Original Dramatic Score).
Disney+ Star Wars shows Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi did secure major nominations, along with HBO's House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.
On the acting front, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey also picked up acting noms for The Last of Us, while Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman, who played Frank and Bill, respectively, in the standout "Long Long Time" episode, were both nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series.
In addition, Predator prequel movie, Prey, was nominated for Outstanding TV movie.
One notable "snub" (depending on who you ask, of course) was Prime Video's massive-budget The Lord of the Rings series, The Rings of Power.
