Ms. Marvel premiered on Disney+ earlier this year, and it's fair to say we all fell in love with Kamala Khan's family just as quickly as the hero herself. Mohan Kapur stole the show as the teenager's father, Yusuf Khan, but now finds himself facing some serious sexual misconduct allegations from a 15-year-old girl ahead of his return in The Marvels next year.
It's important to point out that, as far as we're aware, no legal action is being taken in regard to these claims, and that Kapur has not responded in any way to them. However, the actor made his Twitter account private shortly after the girl's Tweets were posted, leading to him facing a great deal of backlash for seemingly attempting to just ignore the allegations.
The alleged survivor, @Nayaaaax3, explained what she claims happens across a series of Tweets, saying she befriended the Bollywood actor's wife before meeting Kapur.
"When I was 14 years old, I was a fan of this serial actress [and] we became friends. Her partner at that time Mohan Kapur also became friends with me. I respected the both of them almost like [second] parents, [and] told them about my stressful life. But Mohan Kapur took advantage of me."
"We constantly talked until I notice he started flirting with me. Then when I was 15 years old Mohan Kapur sent his d**k pics to me. He was apologizing nonstop [and] was depressed...I forgave him. But after that he continued to harass me...said things like how he was in love with me, wanted to marry me, wanting me to grow up to be with him, and can’t wait for me to get older so I can sleep with him. Now I know that Mohan Kapur was grooming me."
That's the bulk of the accusations, and the Twitter user went on to say that she considered taking her own life when the actor ignored her, and in 2020, says he agreed to speak with her again in exchange for nude photos. Some screenshots have been shared, but we're unable to confirm their validity.
You can read the full series of Tweets over at The Direct, and with the story starting to gain mainstream media attention, we have to believe Kapur will be forced to share his side of the story soon. Again, it's impossible to say how valid these claims are given the social media of it all, though it would be wrong to discount them as that happens all too often.
We'll keep you updated.
