All Things Fangirl has found what may be a huge bit of news while on a recent trip to the theater. Allie Grant, who is best known for her role in the TV series Weeds, is listed "be seen opposite Michael Shannon in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Runaways" in her biography.

Runaways focuses on six young friends who discover that their parents are all secretly super-powered villains. Together, they run away from home and straight into the adventure of their lives - vowing to turn the tables on their evil legacy.

Various other sites point out that the theater may have mixed up the Marvel comic book of the same name with the Joan Jett biopic The Runaways which star's Michael Shannon. However, Grant isn't listed as being in the cast for the Joan Jett film, so there may be a chance that a Runaways movie is in the beginning stages of production!

I read alot of the early Runaways issues. They werent really my cup of tea, but I thought it was alright. I've learned over the years this book has a real solid fan base.

I hope this gets made, because I love the series.

Was pretty solid. Could definitely stand alone if it was real. It was one of those, it could've existed outside of the Marvel Universe, but it didn't.

@Anil Rickly: I loved all the cross overs they had with the Young Avengers. Though I think the Civil War one was the best.

Now they just need to get the freaking comic out after 3 months!!!

Dosen't look real. Probably about the Joan Jett thing.

I'm a big fan of Runaways but I always thought it would work better as a TV series than a film. I they took out a few of the more over the top stories then they could easely do it on a low budget.

I dunno Multi. I checked around Twitter and a few other sites..maybe its legit, maybe not. So there would be nothing wrong with running it as a rumor. The thing is Elmayimbe is a Latino Review guy, so its strange there is no mention of it on that site...

My bro and I think that it would make a good TV series. I emailed Feige about that, but I doubt he's like Quesada and actually reads his fan-email. A film would be great. If they do it, they should do The first arc in 3 films and then stop the films, after that. Maybe introduce Cloak and Dagger in the second film and give them their own film.
And I'm with RadBracket on this article. I mean, they've been saying that Brian K. Vaughn was writing this film, for like 3 or 4 years, now. If it's true.....so be it. Have Emily Browning as Nico, even. I don't know. But I doubt they'll start any kind of production outside of the Avengers stuff until like August 2012.

@ Ozymandias

Black Panther is LOOOOONNNNNNG overdue. I would love to see Wakanda with all the CGI tech we have these days.

I loved the Runaways comics. It was a nice concept and the writing was incredible but I'm not sure how it would come across on the big screen. Runaways would be better as a tv show. shrugs...

I would much rather see Teen Titans hit the big screen...

Still fingers crossed, good find @ JOSH!

@IsaiahBradley: I'd rather see Wakanda on location in Africa or South America in HD and have some cgi doctoring afterward. I was actually a fan of the Teen Titans cartoon they had out a few years ago. I don't know how they'd be for a movie because of how intricately the members fit in the greater DCU. If they stick with the original arc, I think it would make a great film.

Runaways is the movie about an all girl rock band they had one hit "Cherry Bomb."
Joan Jett and Lita Ford were members of this band

I'd just be happy to see another issue of the series. It looks like Marvel canceled the series just as it was getting good again.

@IsaiahBradley Yeah. It would make a better TV show than a film. But, I doubt they'll do either.

I would totally watch a Runaways TV show but I can't see it as a two hour movie. I bet a movie would just end up looking like one of those Robert Rodriguez kids films.

Hey get Joss Whedon on the line. ;p

i heard they were planning a Runaways movie a LONG time ago. i was wondering what ever happened with it.

and Runaways is a great comic series. everyone should check it out. also, the Young Avengers / Runaways Civil War Tie-In series was probably the best tie-ins for civil war. very cool!
