New PUNISHER Set Pics Reveal That THE ABYSS Actress Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio Has Joined The Cast

It looks Like Marvel left a big name off the list when they announced the supporting cast for their upcoming Punisher TV series, as these new set snaps reveal that Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (The Abyss, Scarface, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) will also be a part of the show.

We have no idea who she'll play, but as he character is pictured meeting with corrupt CIA operative Rawlins (Paul Schulz), it's probably safe to assume she'll be a villain. Could Mastrantonio be playing one of Frank Castle's most nefarious foes, Ma Gnucci?

I haven't watched the Abyss but I can't wait for this. He was the highlight of Daredevil season 2.

@Highflyer - Omagosh, if you like good science fiction and perfect cast-chemistry and groundbreaking special effects and nailbiting, claustrophobic suspense...it is possible that you should definitely see this.
I recommend ya try Theatrical Version first, then if you like, there's a cool extended cut :)

@Highflyer - I agree with @Lem1, The Abyss is a classic sci-fi film, which hasn't really dated even though it's an eighties flick.
loved that film as a kid and still do. Well worth the two hours!

@Stealthduck @Lem1 I've recently been visiting classic science fiction/horror films. I recently watched David Cronenberg's The Fly so I'll definitely give the Abyss a try.

Don't ever write ''SOMETHING AWESOME casts Mary Elizabeth...' as a headline unless you finish with 'Winstead'. It's just hurtful.

Her name is Ma Gnucci? Isn't that a kind of pasta or something?
Anyway can't wait for this, I was so suprised by how good Bernthal's Punisher was, because I hated his walking dead character so much i couldn't imagine liking him haha. But he was fantastic. I know they won't but I'd love it if they brought back that guy Harry Heck from the Thomas Jane film. He was so badass.
