Earlier today, New York Comic Con made this announcement over Twitter, regarding Jon Bernthal, the man behind Frank Castle, and  availability during the convention in October, as preparation ramps up toward the coming event:

Seeing as The Punisher has already begun auditioning and casting parts in the series, along with reports of a 2017 release date, it does not seem implausible that Marvel's iconic antihero may hit the set by then. However, this also opens the possibility of the character returning in The Defenders, which is also set to begin filming in the fall as well. Regardless, Punisher seems to be in something, which fans are sure to be excited about.

In addition, during the red-carpet premiere for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this past week, Jeph Loeb had invited a number of guests to the screening. One of which was Robbie Reyes' creator, Felipe Smith, but another notable comics guest was Gerry Conway, who has written for Ghost Rider in the past, though not Robbie Reyes. However, when Loeb introduced him to the crowd, he was cited as 'the creator of the Punisher', which Loeb then reportedly followed up by saying: "You will understand why I brought all of these people here later in the season, and why it makes sense." Could we see a confrontation between the Spirit of Vengeance and the one man army known as Frank Castle? Guess we'll just have to wait and see to find out...

@SendMoreIdiots -
Is that a specific team at the top? I would assume they're the Midnight sons, but that doesn't look like the roster with the exception of the Rider and Blade.

It feels more like they are setting up Ghost Rider as a Punisher-like character.

Would I mind Frank Castle showing up? Not at all!

Bring it on!

Maybe they'll take some influence from his Ghost Rider writings.

We'll have to see though. I like Agents of Shield but I'm not fully on board with the Netflix stuff crossing over with them.
