When Wanda Maximoff decided to embrace her destiny by becoming the Scarlet Witch, the hierarchy of power in the Marvel Cinematic Universe changed forever. More powerful than even the Sorcerer Supreme, this former Avenger looks set to turn reality itself (and possibly more than one of them) on its head in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next month.
It's now been over a year since WandaVision wrapped up on Disney+, and to mark the occasion, Marvel Studios artist Andy Park has shared even more spellbinding new concept art.
"Before I designed this look for Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch, I did a bunch of alternate versions for the director [and] producers of Marvel Studios to choose from," Park explains. "I think they picked the right one." We agree with that assessment, though the rest of these designs all have elements it would have been cool to see in live-action.
The "Art of" book for WandaVision is now available to buy, and it no doubt includes even more unused designs. As for Wanda, her story will continue in the Doctor Strange sequel, while a solo project for the Avenger was also recently rumoured. Whether that materialises is obviously going to depend on how her story plays out when she teams up with - or battles! - Stephen Strange.
Either way, we'd expect Wanda's appearance to continue to evolve alongside her newfound abilities.
