After being teased earlier this year, Kevin Feige officially announced Marvel Studios'
What If...?, the studio's first animated series that to debut on the Disney+ streaming service in Summer 2021.
The animated series will feature a wide variety of voice talent from all across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including, but not limited to, Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym/Ant-Man), Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Stanley Tucci (Dr. Abraham Erskine), Taika Waititi (Korg), Toby Jones (Dr. Arnim Zola), Djimon Hounsou (Korath), Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster), Michael Rooker (Yondu) and Chris Sullivan (Taserface).
Additionally, Feige also brought out
Westworld star Jeffrey Wright and introduced him as the voice of The Watcher, who will also feature prominently in the series. No word yet, however, on whether Wright will ever make a live-action MCU appearance.
WHAT IF…?
Feige offered new information on “What If…?,” the first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “What If…?” is being created exclusively for Disney+ and features stories that present alternate realities in the Marvel universe.
Feige mentioned that many actors from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe will reprise their roles as voice talent in the series. He then surprised the audience by bringing Jeffrey Wright to the stage and introducing him as the voice of the popular character The Watcher in the new series.
“What If…?” joins the Disney+ lineup in the summer of 2021.
