Earlier today, Marvel Studios released a new mid-season sneak peek for What If...?, and we now have a first look at the premise of tomorrow's episode.
Titled "What If...Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?", we learn that this version of the Black Panther villain was working undercover in the Ten Rings when Tony Stark found himself in Afghanistan. As a result, he was saved from being kidnapped, and never became the Invincible Iron Man.
That leaves this reality without one of its greatest heroes, but how will Killmonger's life be changed by befriending Tony? That remains to be seen, though other previews for the Marvel Studios animated series have shown the character suited up and fighting some sort of war in Wakanda. It's possible, of course, that this is the same world that saw T'Challa become Star-Lord, but we'll see.
This should be a fun episode, and we're definitely intrigued to see where this story is heading. Michael B. Jordan is clearly back as Killmonger, though it's likely Mick Wingert playing Tony again.
