The third episode of What If...? is set to premiere on Disney+ tomorrow, and Marvel Studios has now shared the official title and a new promo for the next installment in the first MCU-set animated series.
"What If... Earth Lost its Mightiest Heroes?" will focus on Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) as he goes about assembling his original recruits for the Avengers: Initiative: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Hulk.
The teaser doesn't really give us a whole lot to go on beyod that, but it seems this Multiversal tale will see a mysterious individual set about eliminating the heroes before they have the chance to come together as a team for the Battle of New York.
Could it be Loki? Thanos? Someone closer to home, perhaps? You'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out!
We recently learned that What If...? is just the first of "multiple" animated shows “in various phases of development” for the Disney Plus streaming service, in addition to a second season of What If...? and a series of “photo-real” animated shorts centered on Baby Groot. There are no current plans for animated features, however.
